| New rarities discovered today were a Broad-billed Sandpiper in Flintshire at Gronant, and a
Spotted Sandpiper in London at Brent Reservoir. Lingering rarities confimrmed as still present comprised a Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, both Black-headed Bunting and King Eider in Highland, Gull-billed Tern in County Wexford, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Iberian Chiffchaff on the Isles of Scilly, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and Ferruginous Duck in County Durham. Scarcities included Purple Heron (Anglesey and Hertfordshire), Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Icterine Warbler (Highland), Serin and Pectoral Sandpiper (Norfolk), Marsh Warbler and Red-backed Shrike (Suffolk), Hoopoe (South Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope (Northumberland), White Stork (Somerset), and both American Golden Plover and Cattle Egret (County Wexford). |

| A White-throated Sparrow was discovered at Vaul on Tiree in Argyll
today. Further north a Black-headed Bunting was in a garden in Glendale
on the Isle of Skye, Highland whilst a Gull-billed Tern was at Tacumshin,
County Wexford and a Bee-eater flew over Martletwy, Pembrokeshire.
Lingering rarities included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Savi's Warbler in East Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland and Lesser Scaup in County Fermanagh. Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, an Icterine Warbler, a Night Heron, a Purple Heron, an American Golden Plover, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Green-winged Teal, a White Stork, two Golden Orioles, two Marsh Warblers, two Glossy Ibises, three Roseate Terns and up to five Red-necked Phalaropes. |

| New rarities today comprised a King Eider in Lothian at Musselburgh, and a Red-rumped Swallow on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly. Otherwise, lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the
Semipalmated Plover in County Wexford, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall,
Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire,
Whiskered Tern in Suffolk, Iberian Chiffchaff on the Isles of Scilly,
Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland,
King Eider in Aberdeenshire, and Ferruginous Duck in County Durham. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Shetland Isles), American Golden Plover (County Wexford), Marsh Warbler (Suffolk), Hoopoe (Essex), Pectoral Sandpiper (Norfolk), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Green-winged Teal (Cheshire), two Icterine Warblers, and three migrant Red-necked Phalaropes. Significant late news concerned a Snowy Owl seen on Tuesday in County Clare at Gleninagh, where it may have been present since January. |

| Little Bitterns in Suffolk and South Yorkshire, Whiskered
Tern in Suffolk, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset,
Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Bonaparte's Gull in
Northumberland, King Eiders in Aberdeenshire and Highland,
Lesser Scaup in Co Fermanagh, Great Reed Warbler
in Cambridgeshire, Bee-eater in East Yorkshire and
Black Kites in Kent and Suffolk were today's rarity highlights. The best of the rest included Icterine Warbler in Fife, Marsh Warbler in Suffolk, Glossy Ibises in Suffolk and Nottinghamshire, Red-necked Phalaropes in East Yorkshire and Northumberland, Night Heron in East Yorkshire and Green-winged Teals in Cheshire and Orkney. |

| Suffolk stole the limelight today with both Little Bittern and Whiskered Tern
at Trimley Marshes, Red-footed Falcon and Bee-eater together at Walberswick, the
Blue-winged Teal still at Carlton Marshes, Serin at Landguard,
Marsh Warbler at Reydon, Red-backed Shrike at Hollesley and Glossy Ibis
at Mickle Mere. Rarities elsewhere comprised a Greenish Warbler briefly in North Yorkshire at Scarborough, a Lesser Scaup found in County Fermanagh at Lower Lough Erne, the Semipalmated Plover still in County Wexford, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire and Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire. Scarcities included Icterine Warbler (Highland), Common Rosefinch (Cornwall), Red-backed Shrike (Devon), Hoopoe (Norfolk), Green-winged Teal (Cheshire), Golden Oriole (East Yorkshire and Norfolk), and Red-necked Phalarope (East Yorkshire and Northumberland). |

| A drake Blue-winged Teal was found this morning at Carlton Marshes
near Lowestoft in Suffolk and remained there for the rest of the day. There was
a belated report of a Thrush Nightingale on Tiree on Saturday.
The Semipalmated Plover was again at Tacumshin in County Wexford this morning, whilst in Cornwall the Dalmatian Pelican again did a tour of the Land's End area before returning to Drift Reservoir to roost. Other lingering rarities included Great Reed Warblers in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Bee-eater in East Yorkshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling in Bedfordshire, American Golden Plovers in East Sussex and County Wexford, Red-necked Phalarope in Northumberland and Icterine Warbler in Highland. There were also seven Red-backed Shrikes, four Common Rosefinches, three Marsh Warblers and a Bluethroat. |

| New rarity highlights today were a Paddyfield Warbler in Borders at St Abb's Head, a
Great Reed Warbler in Lincolnshire at Barton-upon-Humber, Greenish Warblers in Devon on Lundy, Gwynedd on Bardsey and Shetland on Whalsay,
White-billed Diver on the Western Isles on Barra, whilst in East Yorkshire both
Red-footed Falcon and Bee-eater were around Spurn. Otherwise, brief encounters included a
Caspian Tern in Derbyshire, Gull-billed Terns in both Glamorgan and Somerset, and
Black Kites in Kent and West Sussex. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Semipalmated Plover in County Wexford, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, both Iberian Chiffchaff and Alpine Swift on the Isles of Scilly, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and King Eiders in both Aberdeenshire and Highland. Scarcities included American Golden Plover (East Sussex), Rose-coloured Starling (Bedfordshire), Icterine Warbler (Highland), Temminck's Stint (Glamorgan), Red-necked Phalarope (Orkney Isles), two each of both Common Rosefinch and Golden Oriole, and a total of eight Red-backed Shrikes. |

| New rarities today comprised a Little Bittern in South Yorkshire at Old Moor,
Tawny Pipit on the Shetland Isles on Fair Isle, Greenish Warbler in Essex at The Naze,
Black Kite in County Wexford at Tacumshin, and a Bee-eater reported in Kent at Margate. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Semipalmated Plover in County Wexford, both Eastern Olivaceous Warbler and White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Gull-billed Terns in both Forth and Lothian, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Savi's Warblers in both East Yorkshire and Gwent, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, Alpine Swift on the Isles of Scilly, and King Eiders in both Aberdeenshire and Highland. Scarcities included American Golden Plover (East Sussex), Kentish Plover (Essex), Night Heron (Somerset), Rose-coloured Starling (Bedfordshire), Icterine Warbler (Highland), Golden Oriole (East Sussex), Common Rosefinch (East Yorkshire), two Red-necked Phalaropes, three Marsh Warblers and seven Red-backed Shrikes. |

| Today saw the re-appearance of the Semipalmated Plover at Tacumshin in
County Wexford. It was present in the morning but not seen again after midday.
The Gull-billed Tern remained in Lothian, with it, or another, reported in the morning at Kinneil Lagoon in Forth. There was a belated report of a White-rumped Sandpiper yesterday at Loch Bee on South Uist. The Lammergeier was reported again on Dartmoor and the Dalmation Pelican was still to be found at Drift Reservoir in Cornwall. Other lingering rarities comprised Eastern Olivaceous Warbler in Shetland, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Greenish Warbler in Suffolk, Savi's Warbler in Gwent, Alpine Swift on Scilly, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in London, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, Laughing Gull in Kent and King Eider in Highland. |

| A Broad-billed Sandpiper was discovered at Brandon Marsh,
Warwickshire, as was a Red-throated Pipit at Galley Head, County Cork and
a Black Kite at Grafham Water, Cambridgeshire, whilst the Laughing
Gull returned to Dungeness, Kent briefly.
Lingering rarities included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in London, Iberian Chiffchaff and Alpine Swift in the Isles of Scilly, Greenish Warbler in Suffolk, Savi's Warbler in Gwent, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland and single King Eiders in Highland and Aberdeenshire. |
