| An adult Franklin's Gull was discovered in Cornwall today, at
Siblyback Lake, where the long staying Lesser Scaup was also present.
Also in Cornwall, the Hudsonian Whimbrel remained at Perranuthnoe and the American Herring Gull roosted at Mousehole, with other lingering rarities including the Glaucous-winged Gull in County Cork, two Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire, single Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire and Northumberland, another American Herring Gull in the Western Isles, single Richardson's Cackling Geese in County Sligo and Argyll, King Eider in County Wexford, another Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan and single Ferruginous Ducks in Yorkshire and County Durham. Scarcity highlights included singles of Pallas's Warbler, Hoopoe, Shorelark and Surf Scoter, two each of Yellow-browed Warbler, Richard's Pipit and Cattle Egret, three each of Ring-necked Duck and Glossy Ibis, four Lapland Buntings, five American Wigeons, six Green-winged Teals and eight Great Grey Shrikes. Gull totals were 29 Iceland, 14 Caspian, 11 Glaucous, seven Ring-billed and a single Kumlien's. |
