Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire, Hampshire and
Northumberland, Pacific Diver in Cornwall and two Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire also
lingered. The best of the rest included Hoopoe (West Midlands/Staffordshire), three Yellow-browed Warblers and three Richard's Pipits. |

| New rarities today comprised a Hooded Merganser in Wiltshire at Corsham Lake, and a
White-billed Diver in Argyll off Coll. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Glaucous-winged Gull, Black Duck and Spotted Sandpiper in County Cork, Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire (2) and Hampshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Hampshire, Leicestershire and Northumberland, King Eider in County Sligo, Bonaparte's Gull in Highland, and Lesser Scaups in County Antrim and Glamorgan. Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Surf Scoter (North Yorkshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (Cambridgeshire), two Yellow-browed Warblers (Cornwall), three each of both Richard's Pipit and American Wigeon, five Ring-necked Ducks, six Ring-billed Gulls and eight Lapland Buntings (Norfolk). |

Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Northern Harrier in Orkney, single
Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire, Hampshire and Northumberland,
Spotted Sandpiper in County Cork, Gyr in the Western Isles, two
Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King
Eider in Fife, other Lesser Scaups in Glamorgan and County Antrim,
and single Ferruginous Ducks in Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk and
County Durham.
Scarcity totals included a Hoopoe, a Rose-coloured Starling, three Yellow-browed Warblers and three Richard's Pipits. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of an adult drake Bufflehead
on the River Wyre at Hambleton, Lancashire early morning, but it couldn't be
found in the area late afternoon. This would represent the first record for the
county.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Hudsonian Whimbrel and American Herring Gull in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier, Lesser Yellowlegs and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk (with others of the latter species still in Buckinghamshire and County Durham), two Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire, Spotted Sandpiper in County Cork, single Long-billed Dowitchers in Hampshire and Northumberland, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eider in County Sligo and Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan. |

Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier, Lesser Yellowlegs
and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, two Penduline Tits in Hampshire,
Gloucestershire and Cleveland, two Black-bellied Dippers in Shetland,
single Long-billed Dowitchers in Hampshire and Northumberland,
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon and another Ferruginous Duck in
Buckinghamshire.
Scarcity totals included a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Kumlien's Gull, a Surf Scoter, two American Wigeon, two Glossy Ibises, three Richard's Pipits, three Cattle Egrets, four Lesser Snow Geese, four Ring-necked Ducks, five Shorelarks, five Great Grey Shrikes and six Green-winged Teals. |

| Rarities today comprised the Glaucous-winged Gull and Black Duck both still in County Cork, Pallid Harrier still in Norfolk, Penduline Tits in Cleveland (2) and Gloucestershire (2), Long-billed Dowitchers in Hampshire and Northumberland, White-billed Diver new in County Clare, Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo, Ferruginous Ducks in Buckinghamshire and Norfolk, and Lesser Scaups in Cornwall, County Galway, and Glamorgan. Significant late news concerned a Snowy Owl reported recently near Lairg, Highland. |

Bonaparte's Gull in Devon and Ferruginous Duck in Buckinghamshire. Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Rose-coloured Starling and Yellow-browed Warbler (both Cornwall), Waxwing (Northumberland), Ring-billed Gull (Pembrokeshire), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Richard's Pipit and Cattle Egret (Kent), two each of Surf Scoter and Ring-necked Duck, three Glossy Ibises, four Great Grey Shrikes, six Lapland Buntings (together in Norfolk), and seven Shorelarks. |

and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Black Scoter in County Kerry, two
Penduline Tits together in Gloucestershire, Long-billed Dowitchers in Hampshire, Leicestershire and Northumberland,
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eider in Fife, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan and County Sligo, and
Ferruginous Ducks in both Buckinghamshire and Norfolk. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Cornwall), Hoopoe (West Midlands), Waxwing (Northumberland), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Lapland Bunting and Cattle Egret (Norfolk), three each of Richard's Pipit and Surf Scoter, four Great Grey Shrikes, six each of Shorelark and Glossy Ibis. Totals of notable gulls were 19 Caspian, 14 Glaucous, nine Iceland, six Ring-billed and a Kumlien's. |
