| The highlight of the day was Red-flanked Bluetail in Hampshire at Norleywood this
morning; and although also present yesterday, it could not be relocated during
the afternoon. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Pacific Diver, Hudsonian Whimbrel and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Pacific Diver in County Galway, Black Scoter in County Kerry, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire (2) and Hampshire (2), Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Long-billed Dowitcher in Hampshire, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Northumberland, King Eider in Fife, Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo and Ferruginous Ducks in both Buckinghamshire and West Yorkshire. Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Richard's Pipit (Kent), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), Waxwing (Northumberland), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), three each of Surf Scoter and Cattle Egret, four of Ring-necked Duck and Lapland Bunting, five Ring-billed Gulls, six Shorelarks, and eight each of both Glossy Ibis and Great Grey Shrike. |

and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall (with another of the latter still in
Glamorgan), Greater Yellowlegs on the Isle of Wight, Pallid Harrier,
Lesser Yellowlegs and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk (with others of
the latter in West Yorkshire, County Durham and Hampshire), two Penduline
Tits in Gloucestershire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Hampshire and
King Eider in Fife.
Scarcity highlights included the Hoopoe, a Yellow-browed Warbler, three Richard's Pipits, a Waxwing and a Rose-coloured Starling. |

| In Co Cork a Black Duck was discovered at Baltimore.
Lingering rarities included Pallid Harrier and Lesser
Yellowlegs in Norfolk, American Herring Gull and
Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Coues's Arctic Redpoll
in Northumberland, Long-billed Dowitchers in Northumberland,
Hampshire and Leicestershire, Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk,
Hampshire and
West Yorkshire and two Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire. The best of the rest included Waxwing (Northumberland), Cattle Egret (Norfolk), three Richard's Pipits, three Yellow-browed Warblers and four Glossy Ibises. |

Penduline Tits in Cleveland and Gloucestershire (2),
Dusky Warbler in Somerset, and Lesser Scaup in
Cornwall, Glamorgan and Co Antrim. The best of the rest included Hoopoe (West Midlands/Staffordshire), Waxwing (Northumberland), Yellow-browed Warbler (Hampshire), two Richard's Pipits (East Yorkshire), American Wigeon (Highland) and eight Glossy Ibises. |

Duck still in Norfolk, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Leicestershire
and Northumberland, Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire (2) and Hampshire
(2), White-billed Diver (Orkney Isles), Lesser Scaup (Cornwall),
and Ferruginous Duck (Buckinghamshire). Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Richard's Pipit (two together in East Yorkshire), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Surf Scoter (Fife), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Kumlien's Gull (Clyde), two Ring-necked Ducks, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four Glossy Ibises, and seven Lapland Buntings. |

| Monday 8th February 2016 | ||

| A juvenile American Herring Gull roosted in Mount's Bay,
Cornwall, this evening. Lingering rarities included Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire and Northumberland, Ferruginous Ducks in Buckinghamshire and Norfolk, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Northumberland, Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire (2) and Cleveland and Lesser Scaup in Co Antrim. The best of the rest included Cattle Egret (Suffolk), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), two Waxwings (Northumberland and West Midlands), two Glossy Ibises (Cornwall and Suffolk) and six Shorelarks. A probable American Robin was reported in Moray (apparently present for its third day). |

Tits in both Cleveland (2) and Gloucestershire (2), Long-billed
Dowitcher in Leicestershire and Northumberland, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Northumberland, Spotted Sandpiper
in County Cork, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Scaup in County Antrim and Glamorgan,
Ferruginous Duck in Buckinghamshire, County Durham and Hampshire, and a Richardson's Cackling Goose
in Argyll. Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Richard's Pipit (two together in East Yorkshire), Surf Scoter (North Yorkshire), Snow Goose (Dumfries and Galloway), Ring-necked Duck (Berkshire), American Wigeon (Highland and Lancashire), Cattle Egret (Somerset and Suffolk), and a total of seven Glossy Ibises. |

| A Lesser Scaup was discovered in Belfast, County Antrim, and the
identity of the Long-billed Dowitcher at Wanlip, Leicestershire was
confirmed, having been present for at least two days.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, two Penduline Tits in both Gloucestershire and Cleveland, Gyr in the Western Isles, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk (with others of the latter still in Buckinghamshire and Hampshire), Coues's Arctic Redpoll and Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, White-billed Diver in Orkney, Spotted Sandpiper in County Cork, Red-breasted Goose in Essex, Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo and another Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan. |

| New discoveries today included a smart juvenile American Herring Gull
at Raghly, County Sligo and two Penduline Tits at Saltholme RSPB,
Cleveland, whilst there was news of a Ferruginous Duck at Caldecotte
Lake, Buckinghamshire which was present for its second day.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Greater Yellowlegs on the Isle of Wight, Black Scoter, Long-billed Dowitcher and Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Northumberland, Gyr in the Western Isles, two Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, another Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and a Red-breasted Goose in Essex. |
