| Rarities today comprised both the Hudsonian Whimbrel and American Herring Gull
still in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk,
Long-billed Dowitchers in both Hampshire and Northumberland, two Penduline Tits together in Gloucestershire,
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon and Ferruginous Duck in Buckinghamshire. Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Rose-coloured Starling and Yellow-browed Warbler (both Cornwall), Waxwing (Northumberland), Ring-billed Gull (Pembrokeshire), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Richard's Pipit and Cattle Egret (Kent), two each of Surf Scoter and Ring-necked Duck, three Glossy Ibises, four Great Grey Shrikes, six Lapland Buntings (together in Norfolk), and seven Shorelarks. |
