| Rarities today comprised both the Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous
Duck still in Norfolk, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Leicestershire
and Northumberland, Penduline Tits in Gloucestershire (2) and Hampshire
(2), White-billed Diver (Orkney Isles), Lesser Scaup (Cornwall),
and Ferruginous Duck (Buckinghamshire). Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), Richard's Pipit (two together in East Yorkshire), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Surf Scoter (Fife), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Kumlien's Gull (Clyde), two Ring-necked Ducks, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four Glossy Ibises, and seven Lapland Buntings. |
