| The highlight of the day was the discovery of an American Herring Gull in Cambridgeshire at
King's Dyke, Whittlesey. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Greater Yellowlegs still on the Isle of Wight, both Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck still in Norfolk, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Forster's Tern in County Galway, and Penduline Tits in both Gloucestershire (2) and Hampshire (3). Scarcities included Hoopoe (West Midlands), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall and Hampshire), Glossy Ibis (Cornwall and Suffolk), Cattle Egret and Waxwing (both Suffolk). |
