| Rarities today included the Glaucous-winged Gull still in County Cork,
the Pacific Diver again in County Galway, both Hudsonian Whimbrel and
Lesser Scaup still in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier and Lesser Yellowlegs in Norfolk,
Coues's Arctic Redpoll confirmed in Northumberland, Penduline Tits in
both Gloucestershire (2) and Hampshire (4), King Eider still in County Wexford,
Long-billed Dowitchers in both Hampshire and Northumberland, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, and a
Black-bellied Dipper on the Shetland Isles. Otherwise, immature Thayer's Gulls were suspected in Aberdeenshire at Donmouth, and at Cotham, Nottinghamshire. Scarcities included Serin (Norfolk), Hoopoe (West Midlands), Surf Scoter (County Mayo), Ring-billed Gull (Clyde), three Richard's Pipits together in East Yorkshire, and 16 Glossy Ibises in County Cork. |
