  The highlight of the day was confirmation of a Pied Wheatear in Suffolk at Landguard, where it has first been glimpsed there yesterday: the third record for the county.

Rarities elsewhere comprised the Hudsonian Whimbrel still in Cornwall, Arctic Warbler in County Durham, Olive-backed Pipit on the Shetland Isles, Greater Yellowlegs on the Isle of Wight, Gull-billed Tern in County Kerry, Lesser Yellowlegs in Norfolk, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, and a Penduline Tit briefly in Suffolk

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Norfolk), Red-breasted Flycatcher (County Cork), Glossy Ibis (Essex), Barred Warbler and Surf Scoter (Lothian), two each of Serin, American Golden Plover and Ring-necked Duck, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four Cattle Egrets, five Richard's Pipits, eight Great Grey Shrikes and 16 Yellow-browed Warblers.
