| Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Duck and three White-billed Divers in Aberdenshire,
Harlequin Duck still in Highland, Laughing Gull on the Wirral, Bonaparte's
Gulls in Dorset and County Waterford, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Dublin,
King Eider in Fife, Lesser Scaups in both County Cavan and Glamorgan, and the
Black-bellied Dipper still in East Yorkshire. Scarcities included Glossy Ibis (Nottinghamshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (East Sussex), two each of Richard's Pipit, Yellow-browed Warbler, Surf Scoter and Cattle Egret, three American Wigeons, four of Ring-necked Duck and Waxwing, six Lapland Buntings, nine Shorelarks and 13 Great Grey Shrikes. Notable gull tallies compried 32 Iceland, seven Glaucous, six Caspian, five Ring-billed and a Kumlien's. |
