| Rarities tody comprised the Harlequin Duck still in Aberdeenshire, Black Scoter
in County Kerry, Laughing Gull on the Wirral, King Eider in Cornwall, two
Penduline Tits together in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan and Ross's Goose in Forth. Scarcities included Yellow-browed Warbler (Worcestershire), Glossy Ibis (Nottinghamshire), two each of Little Bunting, Richard's Pipit, American Wigeon, Surf Scoter, Ring-billed Gull and Cattle Egret, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four Great Grey Shrikes, six Lapland Buntings and 12 Waxwings. Arrivals of summer migrats continued, with day totals of 114 Sand Martins, 60 Wheatears, nine Garganey, nine Sandwich Terns, eight White Wagtails, six Swallows, three Little Ringed Plovers, two each of both Turtle Dove and Osprey, and a single Ring Ouzel. |
