The fourth Franklin's Gull for Norfolk was discovered at Breydon Water early morning, remaining on view for a little over two hours. This is the second for the site, following the county's first in 1991, with Titchwell RSPB claiming the other two records in 1992 and 1998. Nearby, an adult White-rumped Sandpiper was on Rush Hill Scrape, Hickling (with another still at Snettisham RSPB), and a Black Kite flew over Fakenham early afternoon. A pratincole species was seen in flight near St Osyth, Essex.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Pacific Golden Plover in Staffordshire, Ross's Gull in Devon, four Black-winged Stilts in Sussex and two Bee-eaters on the Isle of Wight, whilst the Swinhoe's Petrel was trapped again on Fair Isle last night.
