An adult Great Knot was at Breydon Water - the fourth British record and the first for Norfolk. Having originally been discovered yesterday evening, the news was released early this morning and despite disappearing from time to time, it was twitchable until dusk.

In Lincolnshire the wandering Black-winged Pratincole paused at Gibraltar Point NNR before flying out over The Wash.

On Shetland the Swinhoe's Petrel was retrapped on Fair Isle in the early hours, in Co Down a Fea's Petrel flew past St.John's Point and lingering rarities included Ross's Gull (Devon) and Lesser Yellowlegs (Lincolnshire), whilst an Isles of Scilly pelagic produced three Wilson's Petrels.

The best of the rest included five Glossy Ibises, Red-backed Shrikes in Norfolk and Surrey, Temminck's Stint in Northumberland, White-winged Black Tern in Essex and Long-tailed Skua in Norfolk.
