Rarities today comprised the American Coot still in Highland, Red-flanked Bluetail in Wiltshire,
Ross's Gulls in both County Cork and County Dublin, American Herring Gulls
in Argyll and County Mayo, Penduline Tit (2) and Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler
(2) in Kent, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Warwickshire, Two-barred Crossbill in Gloucestershire (7) and South Yorkshire (4),
Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall and Staffordshire, and
Marbled Duck in Northamptonshire. In Kent the probable Chinese Pond Heron remained in Saltwood. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Cattle Egret (Buckinghamshire), Ring-necked Duck (Somerset), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), two each of American Wigeon, Lesser Snow Goose and Yellow-browed Warbler, four Glossy Ibis, five Shorelark, eight Lapland Bunting, 10 Surf Scoters and 20 Parrot Crossbills. Gull tallies included 53 Glaucous, 23 Iceland, 13 Kumlien's, seven Caspian and three Ring-billed. |
