Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the American Coot in Highland,
American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Northamptonshire, two
Two-barred Crossbills together in Gloucestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, and
Lesser Scaups in Cornwall, Glamorgan and Staffordshire. Scarcities included Serin and Rose-coloured Starling (together on the Isles of Scilly), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), Surf Scoter (Western Isles), Cattle Egret (County Waterford), three Yellow-browed Warblers, eight Parrot Crossbills (Norfolk), nine Glossy Ibises, and 12 Shorelarks. Scarce gulls comprised 38 Glaucous, 21 Iceland, 10 Kumlien's, seven Caspian, three Ring-billed, with a Sabine's Gull passing Northumberland. |
