A Greater Yellowlegs by Loch Fleet, Highland became the second record
for the county today, following a one-day bird on the Isle of Skye in May 1985.
It was present in a flooded field at Knockglass all afternoon.
Long staying rarities seen today included the Western Sandpiper and Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Norfolk, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper in Somerset, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Dorset, single Desert Wheatears in Northumberland and Shetland, single Lesser Scaups in Gloucestershire and Somerset, single Glossy Ibises in Lancashire and Essex and Spotted Sandpiper and Red-breasted Goose in Devon. |
