| In Cheshire an adult Long-billed Dowitcher was present at Neumann's
Flash until this evening when it flew off. In Norfolk a Caspian Tern flew
past Cley and in Northamptonshire a Red-rumped Swallow was sighted in
Rushden.
Lingering rarities included Black Duck and Snowy Owl (Co Mayo), Broad-billed Sandpiper (Essex), Semipalmated Sandpiper (Devon), Whiskered Tern (Cleveland), Ferruginous Duck (Somerset), two Glossy Ibises (Co Dublin), American Herring Gull (Co Kerry), Laughing Gull (Co Antrim) and American Golden Plover (Co Clare). Three Barred Warblers, two Buff-breasted Sandpipers, and single Wryneck, Icterine Warbler, Common Rosefinch, Cattle Egret, Great White Egret, Pectoral Sandpiper and Spotted Crake were all logged in Britain and Ireland today. |
