Thursday 3rd June 2010  
  The highlight of the day was of a singing male Marmora's Warbler at Blorenge, Gwent. First suspected in the morning, the identity was confirmed by midday and the bird showed until late in the evening.

Elsewhere, a dark morph Booted Eagle was reported again in Suffolk: today recorded passing over both Stowmarket and Baylham. On the Shetland Isles the Black Stork remained, as did the Iberian Chiffchaff in South Yorkshire, single Red-footed Falcons in both Cambridgeshire and Kent and Ferruginous Duck in Somerset. A Black Kite flew over Chester, Cheshire.

Scarcities included four Red-backed Shrikes, three Bluethroats, two migrant Golden Orioles and a single Common Rosefinch (Gwynedd), Purple Heron (Kent), Surf Scoter (Shetland Isles), Ring-necked Duck (Fife), Great White Egret (Pembrokeshire) and Green-winged Teal (Cumbria).

Wednesday 2nd June 2010  
  New discoveries today comprised a brief Broad-billed Sandpiper at Rutland Water, Leicestershire, a Pacific Golden Plover on Lewis, Western Isles, a Black Stork on Unst, Shetland Isles and six Bee-eaters flew over Pett Level, East Sussex. A White-billed Diver was off Holy Island, Northumberland.

Lingering rarities included Trumpeter Finch in Norfolk, Great Reed Warbler in Derbyshire, Glossy Ibis in County Wexford and single Red-footed Falcons in Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Kent.

Scarcities logged today included Red-necked Phalarope in Lancashire, Bluethroat in Norfolk, Marsh Warbler in Suffolk, Red-backed Shrikes in Norfolk, Yorkshire and Shetland, Temminck's Stint in Aberdeenshire, Icterine Warbler in Shetland, Golden Orioles in Lincolnshire and Shetland and Short-toed Lark and Common Rosefinch also in Shetland.

Tuesday 1st June 2010  
  The highlight of the day was a male Collared Flycatcher on Lewis, Western Isles. Other arrivals of eastern origin included both an elusive Thrush Nightingale and a singing Marsh Warbler in Norfolk, a Rustic Bunting on the Orkney Isles, Red-breasted Flycatcher and Icterine Warbler together in East Yorkshire, Golden Oriole on the Shetland Isles, Grey-headed Wagtail in Ayrshire and six Red-backed Shrikes.

Other rarities seen today comprised the Trumpeter Finch still in Norfolk, Forster's Tern and Glossy Ibis together in County Wexford, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Red-rumped Swallow on the Orkney Isles, Bee-eater in Suffolk, Ferruginous Duck in Somerset, a Black Kite briefly in Northumberland, territorial Iberian Chiffchaffs in both Kent and South Yorkshire and single Red-footed Falcons in Cambridgeshire, County Wexford and Hertfordshire.

Other scarcities included a Short-toed Lark on the Isles of Scilly, a Great White Egret in Aberdeenshire, a Ring-necked Duck in County Armagh and three Purple Herons: two in Kent and one in Suffolk.

Saturday 29th May 2010  
  Two Black-winged Stilts at Frampton Marsh RSPB, Lincolnshire were the highlight of the day, continuing the reserve's run of good birds this Spring. Other rarity discoveries today included a Bee-eater at Gibraltar Point NNR, Lincolnshire and a Red-rumped Swallow which lingered at Ogston Reservoir, Derbyshire all day.

In Yorkshire the Savi's Warbler continued to sing at Old Moor RSPB, whilst the Iberian Chiffchaff was also still singing at Potteric Carr YWT. Further south, the Great Reed Warbler also remained at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Red-footed Falcons were in County Wexford (3), County Kildare and Hertfordshire, whilst the Red-rumped Swallow remained on Orkney. The King Eider was seen again on the Ythan Estuary, Aberdeenshire,

Scarcity highlights included Buff-breasted Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire, White-spotted Bluethroat in Norfolk, Woodchat Shrike in Yorkshire, four migrant Golden Orioles, Icterine Warbler on Shetland, Purple Heron in Suffolk, three Balearic Shearwaters, Pomarine Skua in County Wexford, four migrant Honey Buzzards, two Ring-necked Ducks and single Glaucous and Iceland Gulls in Yorkshire and Northumberland respectively.

Wednesday 26th May 2010  
  The highlight of the day was a Black-browed Albatross off Flamborough Head, East Yorkshire early in the morning before flying further out to sea. On the Isles of Scilly a White-throated Sparrow was a long-awaited first for the archipelago whilst discoveries elsewhere included a Blue-winged Teal in Leicestershire at Groby Pool, a Red-rumped Swallow in Suffolk at Trimley Marshes and single Red-footed Falcons in Hertfordshire at Wilstone Reservoir and County Kildare at Timahoe West. Meanwhile, lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the Great Reed Warbler in Derbyshire, Red-rumped Swallow on the Orkney Isles and territorial Iberian Chiffchaffs in Gwent, Kent and South Yorkshire.

Brief encounters comprised a Black Stork in Highland, a Glossy Ibis in County Kerry, Alpine Swift in Kent, Bee-eater in West Sussex and Black Kites in Cornwall (2) and Somerset.

Scarcities included nine Temminck's Stints spread across seven counties, two each of Red-backed Shrike and migrant Golden Orioles, Purple Heron (Suffolk), Bluethroat (Wirral), Common Rosefinch (Lancashire), Serin (Dorset), Marsh Warbler (Suffolk), Hoopoe (Cornwall), Great White Egret (Carmarthenshire), Pectoral Sandpiper and Cattle Egret (both Lincolnshire).
