Newly discovered rarities included a Red-rumped Swallow at Wraysbury Gravel Pits (Berkshire), Bonaparte's Gull at Arlington Reservoir (East Sussex), a Bee-eater flew over Shapwick (Somerset) and a Black-headed Wagtail (or perhaps a hybrid between feldegg and another form of Yellow Wagtail) lingered at Cresswell Pond NWT (Northumberland).

In Cornwall the singing Savi's Warbler continued to perform in the early morning and evening at Marazion Marsh RSPB. Elsewhere notable records included Hoopoes in Cornwall (two birds together on The Lizard), Pembrokeshire (on Skomer) and in Lancashire (at Heysham NR), a Purple Heron was seen on Tresco (Isles of Scilly) and a Wryneck was logged in Cornwall.
