The highlight of the day was the discovery of an adult Bonaparte's Gull in Lligwy Bay, Anglesey, where it remained until dusk. Elsewhere, the
Black-throated Thrush remained in North Yorkshire as did the Spotted Sandpiper in Devon,
Little Bunting in Highland and Ferruginous Duck in County Armagh. Scarcities recorded today comprised six each of Glaucous Gull and Balearic Shearwater, four each of Ring-billed Gull and Iceland Gull, three each of Ring-necked Duck and Waxwing, two Cattle Egrets, Green-winged Teals and Caspian Gulls and singles of Serin (London), Great White Egret (Aberdeenshire), Lesser Snow Goose (County Donegal), Great Grey Shrike (Warwickshire) and Shorelark (Flintshire). |
