	A 1st-summer male Red-footed Falcon at Thorne Moors, South Yorkshire was the only new rarity found during a quiet summer day, and even this bird may have been the same individual seen at nearby Hatfield Moors in late May. Otherwise the male Little Bittern in Somerset, Black Duck in Cornwall, Squacco Heron in Cambridgeshire, Forster's Tern in Wexford and either a Semipalmated or Western Sandpiper in Co Dublin provided the highlights. In Suffolk Great White Egrets were noted at Minsmere RSPB and Benacre Broad and a Purple Heron was also seen at the former site. Another Purple Heron lingered at Ham Wall RSPB in Somerset, a Great Shearwater lingered off Carnsore Point, Co Wexford and in East Sussex a Serin visited Fairlight Cove.
