| With no new rarities on show it was left to long-stayers to create the
headlines. The pick of the bunch was once again the adult male White-crowned
Sparrow in Cley, but Wilson's Snipe on Isles of Scilly, Glossy
Ibis in Lincolnshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Cornwall and
Cleveland, King Eider in Devon, Lesser Scaups in Wiltshire,
Warwickshire and Western Isles and a reappearance of the West Wittering
Red-breasted Goose were all noteworthy.
The Pallas's Warbler remained at Bere Regis, Dorset, Yellow-browed Warblers were in Devon (2) and Cornwall, the Pembrokeshire Rose-coloured Starling was still available and a (very) early Little Ringed Plover was at Blashford Lakes HWT, Hampshire. |
