Ladakh: The Land of the Ghost Cat

RBA owner Dick Filby will be heading to the remote mountain valleys of Ladakh in northern India at the end of February to lead the next WildWings tour to this unique location and for any RBA subscribers looking for a last-minute holiday, this trip offers a fantastic opportunity to see some incredible wildlife.

Ladakh is probably the most reliable and beautiful place in the world to see Snow Leopard and all Dick’s previous trips have been successful in finding this enigmatic species. There will, however, also be plenty of great birds with the possibilities including Ibisbill, Himalayan Snowcock, Himalayan Griffon, Lammergeier, Tibetan Partridge, Wallcreeper and Red-fronted Serin.

The tour concludes with a 5-day extension to an area only recently opened to visitors on the Tibetan Plateau where there are great chances of the delightful Pallas’s Cat, as well as Tibetan Wild Ass (Kiang), Tibetan Gazelle and a host of additional birds including Tibetan Snowcock, Tibetan Lark, Tibetan Sandgrouse, Blanford’s Snowfinch and Ground Tit.
