| Extraordinary news today of an Egyptian Nightjar in Shetland at Virkie, Mainland where it remained until dusk; the third British record following records at Rainworth, Nottinghamshire on 23rd June 1883 and Portland Bill, Dorset on 10th June 1984. Elsewhere discoveries today included a Pallid Harrier briefly in Hertfordshire at Maple Cross, and in Ireland Baird's Sandpipers new in County Donegal at Blanket Nook and at Achill Island, County Mayo. Continuing rarities today comprised the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit, Zitting Cisticola, Black Stork and Red-footed Falcon in Suffolk, Solitary Sandpiper and Citrine Wagtail together in Scilly, White-throated Sparrow in Fife, Pallid Harrier in Shetland, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Baird's Sandpipers in County Kerry and County Wexford, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. |

In County Galway the Bonaparte's Gull returned to Ballyconneely. Continuing rarities today included the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit, Black Stork and Red-footed Falcon all in Suffolk, Solitary Sandpiper and Citrine Wagtail together in Scilly, two Pallid Harriers together in Shetland, Spotted Sandpiper in County Dublin, and Baird's Sandpipers in both County Wexford and Wirral. |

| The new rarities today included a second Pallid Harrier at Brow Marsh in Shetland, a Baird's Sandpiper at Meols in Wirral, a South Polar Skua past Bridges of Ross in County Clare and a Barolo Shearwater past Annagh Head in County Mayo.

| Discoveries today included in Scilly a Solitary Sandpiper on Tresco and a Greenish Warbler on St Mary's, a Brown Booby in Fife passing Fife Ness, a Whiskered Tern in Somerset at Shapwick Heath, and a Fea's Petrel species in Cornwall passing Porthgwarra, and a Citrine Wagtail at Rerwick, Mainland, Shetland. Continuing rarities confirmed as still present were the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/ Oxfordshire border, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit, Red-footed Falcon and White-rumped Sandpiper all in Suffolk, Elegant Tern in County Kerry, White-throated Sparrow in Fife, Pacific Diver in Highland, Spotted Sandpiper in County Dublin, Baird's Sandpiper in County Clare and County Kerry, Pallid Harrier and Citrine Wagtail in Scilly, and Ferruginous Duck in Hertfordshire. |

| New rarities today consisted of late news of an Eleonora's Falcon from the Isle of Man, and a very showy Red-footed Falcon at Lowestoft in Suffolk.
Rarities included a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, an Elegant Tern in County Kerry, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, a Hooded Merganser in Suffolk, a Black Stork in Suffolk, Baird's Sandpipers in County Kerry, Shetland and County Wexford, a Spotted Sandpiper in County Dublin, a Pallid Harrier in Shetland, Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire, Citrine Wagtails in Scilly and Shetland, a Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, and a White-rumped Sandpiper in Suffolk. |

| New rarities today were a Baird's Sandpiper at Tacumshin in County Wexford, a Barolo Shearwater at Bridges of Ross in County Clare and Pendeen in Cornwall, and a Band-rumped Petrel sp also at Pendeen Watch in Cornwall.
Rarities included a Pallid Harrier in Shetland, Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk and Oxfordshire, a Bonaparte's Gull in Fife, a Blyth's Reed Warbler and Citrine Wagtail in Shetland, a further Citrine Wagtail in Scilly, a White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford and another in the Western Isles, a Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, an Elegant Tern and Baird's Sandpiper in County Kerry and County Wexford, a Greenish Warbler in Aberdeenshire, and a Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland. |

| New rarities today consisted of a Greenish Warbler in Shetland at Toab, a Baird's Sandpiper at Shannon Airport in County Clare, a Franklin's Gull at Mudeford in Dorset, a Bonaparte's Gull at Anstruther in Fife, Ferruginous Ducks at Filby Broad in Norfolk and Wilstone Reservoir in Hertfordshire, a further Greenish Warbler at Spurn Point in East Yorkshire, a Barolo Shearwater in County Clare, a Western Bonelli's Warbler confirmed in County Waterford, a Fea's Petrel at Galley Head in County Cork, and a Baird's Sandpiper at Pool of Virkie in Shetland.
Rarities included a Black Stork in Suffolk, a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, a Citrine Wagtail in Scilly, a Pacific Diver in Highland, a Pallid Harrier in Shetland, and a further Baird's Sandpiper in Pembrokeshire. |

| New rarities today consisted of an exceptional haul: Bonelli's Warbler records in County Kerry, Gwynedd (Western Bonelli's Warbler) and County Waterford, a Barolo Shearwater at Bridges of Ross in County Clare, Greenish Warblers at Eyemouth in the Borders and multiple sites in Aberdeenshire, a Pallid Harrier at Rainham Marshes in London, a Franklin's Gull at Milford-on-Sea in Hampshire, an Alpine Swift at Berry Head in Devon, and a further Pallid Harrier on Unst in Shetland.
Rarities included a Pallid Harrier in Shetland, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Baird's Sandpipers in Pembrokeshire and County Kerry, a Pacific Diver in Highland, a White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford, a Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, a White-throated Sparrow in Fife, Citrine Wagtails on Scilly and Shetland, and a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk. |

| Discoveries today included in Ireland in County Kerry an Elegant Tern at Beale Strand (where it was first seen yesterday) and a Baird's Sandpiper at Ventry, a Western Bonelli's Warbler at Ballycotton, County Cork, and in County Clare two Fea's Petrel species passed Bridges of Ross, County Clare. In Britain a Great Snipe in Northumberland on Holy Island briefly, in Shetland a Pallid Harrier on Out Skerries (where it was first seen yesterday) and a Citrine Wagtail at Lerwick, Mainland, a Greenish Warbler in Highland at John O' Groats, and in Cornwall a Spotted Sandpiper at Helston Loe Pool and a Barolo Shearwater reported from Pendeen Watch.
Continuing rarities confirmed as still present were the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/ Oxfordshire border, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit and White-rumped Sandpiper in Suffolk, White-throated Sparrow in Fife, Franklin's Gull in Dorset, Subalpine Warbler species and Blyth's Reed Warbler in Shetland, Baird's Sandpipers in County Kerry (at Carrahane Strand) and Pembrokeshire, Spotted Sandpiper in County Dublin, Citrine Wagtail in Shetland, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford and the Western Isles, and Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire. |

| Discoveries today included a Franklin's Gull in Dorset at Stanpit Marsh, a Red-rumped Swallow in Cumbria at Carlisle, a White-rumped Sandpiper in the Western Isles on South Uist, Citrine Wagtails in County Donegal on Arranmore and in Scilly on St Agnes, Greenish Warblers in Devon at Hope's Nose and in East Yorkshire at Buckton, and in Shetland a Subalpine Warbler species on Whalsay and a Blyth's Reed Warbler at Channerwick, Mainland.
