The mega highlight of the day was a White-throated Needletail in Highland at Helmsdale, with other major rarities including Franklin's Gull on Westray, Orkney, Pacific Diver at Crookhaven, County Cork, Red-flanked Bluetail at Wells Woods, Norfolk, Black-headed Bunting on Inishmore, County Galway, and Pallid Harrier at Severn Beach, Gloucestershire.
More new rarities included Richardson's Cackling Goose at Lissadell, County Sligo, Long-billed Dowitcher at Montrose Basin, Angus, Eastern Yellow Wagtail on St. Kilda, Western Isles, and Olive-backed Pipit on Lundy, Devon. Continuing rarities included Blackpoll Warbler in Shetland, Mourning Dove in Scilly, American Pipit in Scilly and County Galway, Western Bonelli's Warbler in County Cork, Lesser Yellowlegs in Norfolk, Cornwall, and County Wexford, Spotted Sandpiper in Scilly, Baird's Sandpiper in Cornwall and County Mayo, Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Dusky Warbler in Norfolk, Ross's Goose in Merseyside, Pallid Harrier in Glamorgan, Marsh Sandpiper in Lothian, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Kerry, White-rumped Sandpipers in Argyll, County Clare, County Wexford and County Donegal, Arctic Warbler in County Galway, Northern Harrier in County Wexford, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in Highland, Greenish Warbler in Scilly, Lesser Scaup in North Yorkshire, and Baikal Teal in Dorset. |
