| Discoveries today included a Brown Booby reported in Cornwall at Gwithian, on Shetland a Gyr Falcon on Yell briefly and a Snowy Owl on Unst briefly, in County Kerry a Black Scoter with a White-winged Scoter at Inch, and in Oxfordshire a Lesser Scaup reported at Farmoor Reservoir.
Rarities elsewhere comprised Booted Eagle and Bonaparte's Gull both still in Cornwall, American Coot in Shetland, American Pipit in Northumberland, both Least Sandpiper and Kentish Plover in Somerset, Penduline Tit in Cheshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, and Ferruginous Ducks in Essex, Hampshire, London, and Warwickshire. |

| In Cornwall, the Booted Eagle remained in the Marazion /Crowlas area all day, with the Bonaparte's Gull also still in the county at Sennen Cove.
Elsewhere, a Ferruginous Duck was found at Brownwich, Hampshire, with others still in London, Essex, Warwickshire and Lincolnshire. Other lingering rarities including the American Pipit and Black Scoter in Northumberland, Canvasback in Essex, Least Sandpiper in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire and Long-billed Dowitcher and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk. |

| Surprise news today of the reappearance of the juvenile pale morph Booted Eagle in west Cornwall at Marazion; it had first been present nine miles to the west on 10th-11th October 2024 (and reported again nearby on 20th October). In Northumberland the adult male Black Scoter reappeared at Goswick; this bird is now at least sixteen years old.
Rarities elsewhere comprised the Double-crested Cormorant still in County Leitrim, Canvasback still in Essex, American Coot in Shetland, American Pipit in Northumberland, Least Sandpiper and Kentish Plover in Somerset, Pallid Harriers in both Norfolk and Pembrokeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitchers in Norfolk and County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Ferruginous Ducks in Essex, Hampshire, Lincolnshire, London, and Warwickshire, and Lesser Scaups in County Armagh, Essex, Perth and Kinross (3), and County Wexford (2). Unfortunately the report of a Gyr Falcon in Dorset on Friday appears to have been a hoax. |

| Today's new rarities included nine White-billed Divers off Papa Westray, Orkney, two more at South Nesting Bay, Shetland. Two Lesser Scaups at Abberton, Essex, another at Letterkenny, County Donegal, as well as one at Lough Neagh, County Armagh.
Lingering rarities included the American Pipit in Northumberland, Desert Wheatear in Carmarthenshire, Canvasback in Essex, American Coot in Shetland, Least Sandpiper in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Pallid Harriers in Norfolk and County Cork, Lesser Scaups in County Wexford and County Clare, Ferruginous Ducks in Lincolnshire, and White-billed Diver in Northumberland. |

| The identity of the American Pipit at Ross Back Sands, Northumberland was confirmed today, with it remaining in the area all day. A Desert Wheatear was found in a car park at Pendine, Carmarthenshire, and a white Gyr Falcon was at Durlston Country Park in Dorset this afternoon.
Lingering rarities included the American Coot in Shetland, Ross's Gull in County Durham, Least Sandpiper in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Long-billed Dowitcher and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Lesser Scaups in County Cork, Essex, Staffordshire and Perth and Kinross, Ferruginous Ducks in London, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire and Lincolnshire, Pacific Diver in County Cork and White-billed Diver in Northumberland. |

| The highlight of the day was a Pacific Diver reported in County Roscommon at Cavetown Lough.
Rarities elsewhere comprised the Ross's Gull still commuting between County Durham and Northumberland, Grey-headed Lapwing and White-billed Diver both still in Northumberland, Scops Owl again on show in Kent, American Coot still in Shetland, Least Sandpiper and Kentish Plover in Somerset, White-winged Scoter in County Kerry, Penduline Tit in Cheshire, Pallid Harriers in both County Cork and Norfolk, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, London, and Warwickshire. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Ross's Gull in County Durham; this following a blank year for this species in Britain and Ireland in 2024. Initial located passing Whitburn this adult bird was later relocated between South Shields and Tynemouth, Northumberland.
Rarities elsewhere comprised Grey-headed Lapwing and White-billed Diver both still in Northumberland, the Bufflehead still in Shetland, Pallid Harriers in Norfolk and Pembrokeshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Kentish Plover in Somerset, Lesser Scaups in Essex, Perth and Kinross, and Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, London, and Warwickshire. Significant late news for yesterday concerned a Lesser Scaup in Hampshire at Ibsley where it had first been seen on New Year's Eve 2024. |

| Rarities today comprised both the Grey-headed Lapwing and White-billed Diver still in Northumberland, Least Sandpiper and Kentish Plover still in Somerset, Pallid Harriers in both County Cork and Pembrokeshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaup in Essex, Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, London, and Warwickshire (2), and in Aberdeenshire a probable Thayer's Gull was at Peterhead.
Significant news for yesterday was that the Scops Owl was showing again in Kent at Broadstairs overnight. |

| A juvenile White-billed Diver spent a couple of hours on Cresswell Pond, Northumberland this morning.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Grey-headed Lapwing in Northumberland, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Northern Harrier in County Wexford, Bufflehead in Shetland, Ferruginous Ducks in London and Hertfordshire and Lesser Scaups in County Cork, County Clare, Staffordshire and two in Perth and Kinross. |

| The Scops Owl was seen again at Broadstairs in Kent this evening, after an absence of three days. However, there was again no sign of the Yellow Warbler in Kent nor was there any sign of either the Least Sandpiper nor the Baikal Teal in Somerset.
The Grey-headed Lapwing remained in Northumberland and the American Coot was still on Mainland Shetland. Other lingering rarities included Long-billed Dowitchers in Norfolk and Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaups in Staffordshire, Perth and Kinoross (2) and Essex, Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, London, Lincolnshire and Warwickshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Cornwall. |
