Rarities discovered today included White's Thrush and Eastern Black Redstart on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, Pallid Swifts in Kent at Birchington and Lancashire at Pilling Lane (2), Pallid Harriers in County Cork at Three Castles Head and Pembrokeshire at St David's Head, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Kerry at Black Rock Strand, Red-throated Pipit in Cornwall at Park Head, Radde's Warbler in Northumberland on Holy Island, Dusky Warbler in Suffolk at Benacre, and a Blyth's Reed Warbler in Highland at Durness. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Wilson's Snipe, Pallid Swift, Red-throated Pipit, Radde's Warbler, and Richard's Pipit on St Mary's, Pallid Swift and Pallas's Warbler on Tresco, Short-toed Lark and Wryneck on St Agnes. On the Shetland Isles Desert Wheatear, Blyth's Reed Warbler, White-billed Diver, and Great Grey Shrike on Mainland, and a White-billed Diver on Yell. Elsewhere lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Whiskered Tern in Angus, Radde's Warblers in Angus, County Cork, Northumberland, and East Sussex, Dusky Warblers in both Somerset and Suffolk, Subalpine Warbler species in Northumberland, Arctic Warbler and Blyth's Reed Warbler together in County Donegal, Eastern Stonechat species in Fife, Long-billed Dowitcher in Conwy Norfolk, White-rumped Sandpiper in Gwent, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland, Cornwall (2), and Merseyside, and Marbled Duck in Lincolnshire. |

Incredible seawatching in Cornwall today where a Band-rumped Petrel species, Barolo Shearwater, and 3,000 Great Shearwaters passed The Lizard, a Band-rumped Petrel species and 800 Great Shearwaters off Porthgwarra, and 2,500 Great Shearwaters in Falmouth Bay. Other discoveries included a Black-winged Pratincole in Cheshire at Ince Marsh, Ross's Goose in Forth at Kinbuck, at least one Pallid Swift in County Louth at Cooley Point, Radde's Warblers in County Antrim on Rathlin Island, Northumberland on Holy Island, and East Sussex at Beachy Head, Arctic Warbler in County Donegal on Tory Island, Red-throated Pipit on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, Olive-backed Pipits in County Clare at Loop Head and Fife at Balcomie, Eastern Stonechat species in Fife at Crail, Subalpine Warbler species in Northumberland at Tynemouth, and on North Ronaldsay, Lesser Yellowlegs in Merseyside at Marshside, Bonaparte's Gull in County Kerry at Lough Leane, White-rumped Sandpipers in Gwent at Goldcliff and County Wexford at Carne, and Red-rumped Swallows in East Yorkshire at Bempton (3) and North Yorkshire at Hunmanby Gap. | A Dusky Thrush was trapped and ringed in Lothian this afternoon, but wasn't seen after release. New Red-flanked Bluetails were at Kilminning, Fife and Bilsdean, Lothian, an Olive-backed Pipit was at Easington, Yorkshire, a Rustic Bunting was on Cape Clear, County Cork, a Blyth's Reed Warbler was on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, a Pallid Swift was over St Agnes, Scilly and a Long-billed Dowitcher was at Burton Mere Wetlands, Cheshire. Single Dusky Warblers were at Winterton, Norfolk, Flamborough, Yorkshire and Saltburn, Cleveland, whilst Radde's Warblers were at Mains of Usan, Angus, Newbiggin, Northumberland, Marsden, County Durham, Brotton, Cleveland and Beachy Head, Sussex.
Lingering rarities included Blackburnian Warbler, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Red-throated Pipit in Scilly, Myrtle Warbler in County Clare, Red-eyed Vireo in County Cork, Red-flanked Bluetail and Radde's Warbler in Fife, three Red-flanked Bluetails in Yorkshire, Red-flanked Bluetail in Northumberland, Red-flanked Bluetail in Lothian, Dusky Warbler in Suffolk, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Eastern Stonechat species, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and King Eider in Shetland, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Spotted Sandpiper in Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Whiskered Tern in Angus and and two Richardson's Cackling Geese in Argyll. |

An exceptional day for discoveries including a Brown Booby in County Dublin in Dublin, a Blue Rock Thrush in Norfolk at Winterton, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire at Slimbridge, Bonelli's Warbler species in East Yorkshire at Kilnsea, Radde's Warblers in both County Cork on Cape Clear and East Yorkshire at Buckton, Dusky Warblers in Somerset at Sand Point and Suffolk at Southwold, Red-throated Pipit in Dorset at Portland, Olive-backed Pipit in Norfolk at Titchwell, White-billed Diver on the Western Isles on Lewis, and Red-flanked Bluetails in Fife, Lothian, Northumberland, East Yorkshire (2), North Yorkshire. On the Shetland Isles a Siberian Rubythroat was new at Quendale with elsewhere on Mainland Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll, Olive-backed Pipit, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Pallas's Warbler, Barred Warbler, and two Red-flanked Bluetails, Red-flanked Bluetail on Yell, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Black-bellied Dipper on Fair Isle, and Little Bunting on Out Skerries. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, two Wrynecks on St Agnes, and on St Mary's Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Little Bunting, Sabine's Gull, two Barred Warblers, three Cory's Shearwaters, and 54 Great Shearwaters. Elsewhere, lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Myrtle Warbler in County Clare, Red-eyed Vireo in County Cork, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Black Duck in County Mayo, Whiskered Tern in Angus, Spotted Sandpiper and two Cackling Geese on the Western Isles, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both Cleveland and Cornwall. |

The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Pechora Pipit on the Isles of Scilly on St Mary's where Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, and Red-throated Pipit all remained, as did the Blackburnian Warbler on nearby Bryher. On the Shetland Isles two Red-flanked Bluetails, two Olive-backed Pipits, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll, White-billed Diver, and Barred Warbler were on Mainland, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Little Bunting on Fair Isle, and Dusky Warbler and Waxwing on Yell. Rarities discovered elsewhere were a Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk at Cley, a Red-breasted Goose in Essex passing Frinton-on-Sea, a Red-rumped Swallow in Gwynedd flew over Aberdaron, and Dusky Warblers in Lincolnshire at Rimac and East Yorkshire at Spurn. Other lingering rarities comprised the Whiskered Tern still in Angus, Black Scoter in Northumberland, and Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland, Cornwall (2), and Lancashire. Following the first Pallas's Warbler of the autumn yesterday 16 more were discovered today; all along the east coast and comprising seven in East Yorkshire, six in Norfolk, two in Fife, and one in Northumberland. |

On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Booted Warbler, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Red-throated Pipit, Bluethroat, Little Bunting, Red-breasted Flycatcher, and Common Rosefinch all on St Mary's, Pallas's Warbler and Short-toed Lark on St Agnes, and at sea three Great Shearwaters and five Cory's Shearwaters. On the Shetland Isles Red-flanked Bluetail, Eastern Stonechat species, and King Eider were on Mainland, Parrot Crossbill and Red-breasted Flycatcher on Unst, Black-winged Stilt on Yell, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Little Bunting on Bressay, and Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on Fair Isle. Discoveries elsewhere included a Radde's Warbler in Essex at The Naze, Olive-backed Pipit in Cornwall at Pendeen, Lesser Yellowlegs in Lancashire at Leighton Moss, Black Kite in Somerset at West Moor, and a pratincole species briefly at Frampton Marsh, Lincolnshire. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Red-eyed Vireo in County Cork, Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim, Whiskered Tern in Angus, Red-flanked Bluetail in Glamorgan, Blyth's Reed Warbler in County Donegal, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, Spotted Sandpiper and Cackling Goose on the Western Isles, Long-billed Dowitcher in Conwy, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford, King Eider in Lothian, two Cackling Geese in Argyll, and Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland, County Cork, and Cornwall (2). |

Discoveries today included a new Red-eyed Vireo in County Cork at Mizen Head, two Blue-winged Teals together in County Kerry at Smerwick Harbour, and in South Yorkshire a Red-footed Falcon at Thorne Moors. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, with Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Short-toed Lark, Bluethroat, Little Bunting, and Common Rosefinch on St Mary's, and at sea a Fea's/Desertas Petrel, nine Cory's Shearwaters, and 48 Great Shearwaters. On the Shetland Isles the Black-winged Stilt remained on Yell, two Parrot Crossbills and a Red-breasted Flycatcher were on Unst, and on Mainland an Eastern Stonechat species, Olive-backed Pipit, Ring-necked Duck, and four Arctic Redpolls. Lingering rarities elsewhere included the Myrtle Warbler still in County Clare, both Swainson's Thrush and Spotted Sandpiper on the Western Isles, another Red-eyed Vireo in County Cork, Whiskered Tern in Angus, Red-flanked Bluetail in Glamorgan, Blyth's Reed Warbler in County Donegal, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Kentish Plover in Somerset, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford, and Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Cornwall (2). |

With the discovery of a Blackpoll Warbler in County Galway on Inishbofin and a Swainson's Thrush on North Uist, Western Isles, there has now been 28 Nearctic landbirds of 11 species located in the last 21 days. Discoveries elsewhere included a Pechora Pipit on the Western Isles on Lewis, Whiskered Tern in Angus at Forfar Loch, Red-flanked Bluetail in Glamorgan at Wenallt, Blyth's Reed Warbler in County Donegal on Tory Island, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Cork at Rosscarbery, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford at Tacumshin, Black Kite in Dorset at Witchampton, and two Richardson's Cackling Geese on Islay, Argyll. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, with Olive-backed Pipit, Bluethroat, Little Bunting, and Common Rosefinch all on St Mary's. On the Shetland Isles Red-flanked Bluetail, Olive-backed Pipit, Eastern Stonechat species, King Eider, Barred Warbler, and two Ring-necked Ducks were all on Mainland, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Black-winged Stilt on Yell, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on Fair Isle, and two Parrot Crossbills on Unst. | A Wilson's Snipe was identified at Porth Hellick, Scilly, having been present for a few days. The Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, as did the Olive-backed Pipit at Trenoweth, with a Short-toed Lark, a Wryneck and two Common Rosefinches also on the archipelago.
Red-eyed Vireos were discovered at Seaton Point, Northumberland and at Tregeseal, Cornwall, a Blue-winged Teal was at East Halton, a Long-billed Dowitcher was at Huttoft Bank Pit and a pratincole species was a Alkborough Flats, all Lincolnshire and a White-rumped Sandpiper was at Inch Island Lake, County Donegal. Other lingering rarities included the Myrtle Warbler in County Clare, Red-eyed Vireo, Radde's Warbler and Azorean Yellow-legged Gull in County Cork, Hornemann's Arctic Redpolls in Shetland (two) and Western Isles, Eastern Stonechat species, Black-winged Stilt and King Eider in Shetland, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall (two) and Cleveland, Kentish Plover in Somerset, Forster's Tern in County Louth and Cackling Goose in Western Isles. |

| New discoveries today included a Red-eyed Vireo at Firkeel and a Radde's Warbler on Cape Clear, both County Cork, a Great Snipe on Stronsay, Orkney and a Cackling Goose at Loch Paible, Western Isles.
The Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Scilly all day, with other lingering rarities including the Myrtle Warbler in County Clare, Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim, Olive-backed Pipit and Radde's Warbler in Scilly, Hornemann's Arctic Redpolls in Western Isles and Shetland, Great Snipe in Orkney, Black-winged Stilt, Eastern Stonechat species and King Eider in Shetland, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Cornwall (two) and Black Scoter in Northumberland. Scarcity highlights included a Short-toed Lark, a Melodious Warbler, a Bluethroat, a Wryneck, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Barred Warbler, a Common Rosefinch, a Woodchat Shrike, two Red-backed Shrikes, two Red-breasted Flycatchers, two Richard's Pipits, six Lapland Buntings, a Corncrake, eight Glossy Ibises, three Ring-necked Ducks, three American Wigeon, a Tundra Bean Goose, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, three Pectoral Sandpipers, three American Golden Plovers, a Red-necked Phalarope, 27 Grey Phalaropes, four Long-tailed Skuas, 23 Pomarine Skuas, seven Cory's Shearwaters, 34 Great Shearwaters, two Leach's Petrels, two Little Auks, three Sabine's Gulls, a Glaucous Gull and an Iceland Gull. |
