Big news of the day was the finding of a Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim at Doon Lough late in the afternoon. Lingering rarities included the American Robin in Sussex, Belted Kingfisher in Lancashire, White-tailed Lapwing in Lincolnshire, Ross's Gull in Aberdeenshire, Baikal Teal in Somerset, Pacific Diver in Glamorgan, 8 Lesser Scaups in Clyde (three), Argyll (four) and Dorset, Ferruginous Duck in Oxfordshire, single Red-breasted Geese in Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Essex, Cackling Goose in County Sligo, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, Red-flanked Bluetail in County Durham, Hume's Warbler in Sussex, Kentish Plover in Somerset and 3 Penduline Tits in Somerset. Scarcities included Short-toed Lark, Little Bunting, American Wigeon, Yellow-browed Warbler, 3 Snow Geese, 2 Green-winged Teals, Ring-billed Gull, 13 Shorelarks, 16 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 16 Glossy Ibises. |
