| New discoveries today included a Gull-billed Tern at Muckrush, County Galway, a Caspian Tern at Potter Heigham, Norfolk, Black-winged Stilt at Dunwich and Savi's Warbler at North Warren RSPB, both Suffolk, single Blyth's Reed Warblers at Southwold, Suffolk, Beeston, Norfolk and Far Ings NR, Lincolnshire, 12 Bee-eaters at Halvosso, Cornwall, White-billed Diver at Dunbar, Lothian and a Black Kite over Rockland St Mary, Norfolk.
Lingering rarities included the Green Warbler in Orkney, Iberian Chiffchaff in Suffolk, Great Reed Warbler in Northumberland, Citrine Wagtail in Shetland, Red-rumped Swallow in Scilly, Red-footed Falcon in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in Yorkshire and Black-winged Stilt in Sussex. Scarcity highlights included a Golden Oriole, an Icterine Warbler, a Hoopoe, a Grey-headed Wagtail, two Marsh Warblers, two Common Rosefinches, two Woodchat Shrikes, two Red-backed Shrikes, 16 Rose-coloured Starlings, a Pectoral Sandpiper, four Red-necked Phalaropes, three Roseate Terns, a Purple Heron, a Glossy Ibis, a Long-tailed Skua, four Balearic Shearwaters, a Green-winged Teal and a Glaucous Gull. |
