| Rarities today comprised the Hermit Thrush still on the Isles of Scilly, Forster's Tern in County Galway,
Eastern Stonechat in Suffolk, Coues's Arctic Redpoll on the Shetland Isles,
Blue-winged Teal in Devon, Lesser Scaup in County Mayo, Hooded Merganser in Staffordshire, and
Long-billed Dowitchers in both Northumberland and County Wicklow. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Cambridgeshire), Richard's Pipit (Somerset), American Wigeon (County Galway), Glossy Ibis (Kent), two each of both Surf Scoter and Rough-legged Buzzard, four Yellow-browed Warblers and a total of eight Ring-necked Ducks. |
