| The Cliff Swallow lingered on Isles of Scilly, where a
Lesser Yellowlegs, Temminck's Stint, Dotterel,
Red-backed Shrike and six Wrynecks were also
recorded. Elsewhere new discoveries included Black Stork in Devon, Semipalmated Sandpiper and Baird's Sandpiper in Co Kerry and White-rumped Sandpiper in North Yorkshire, whilst Lesser Yellowlegs (Western Isles and Anglesey), Baird's Sandpipers (Co Derry, Co Donegal and South Yorkshire), Forster's Tern (Co Louth), Dalmatian Pelican and Hudsonian Whimbrel (Cornwall) and Western Purple Swamphen (Lincolnshire) all lingered. The best of the rest included Little Bunting and Common Rosefinch (Shetland), Purple Heron (Oxfordshire), American Wigeon (Leicestershire), two Ortolan Buntings and two Buff-breasted Sandpipers. |
