| The superb Gyr was again in the Balranald area of North Uist on the
Western Isles and a White-billed Diver was still off Barra. The
Bonaparte's Gull was seen again this evening at Thurso in Highland.
Other long staying rarities included King Eiders in Fife and County Wexford, the Long-billed Dowitcher at Cresswell in Northumberland and the Penduline Tit was reported again at Titchfield in Hampshire. In Surrey, the Little Bunting was reported again briefly and the Pallas's Warbler remained in Dorset. There was a general arrival of early spring migrants, especially Willow Warblers with around 120 Firecrests counted at Dungeness. |

| Tuesday 29th March 2016 | ||
| New discoveries today included an adult Bonaparte's Gull at Thurso,
Highland and a White-billed Diver off Barra, Western Isles.
Long staying rarities included the Gyr in the Western Isles, Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire and Northumberland and another White-billed Diver in Moray. Scarcity highlights involved a Hoopoe, a Pallas's Warbler, a Glossy Ibis, two Surf Scoters, two Ring-necked Ducks, two Cattle Egrets, three American Wigeons, three Lapland Buntings, four Great Grey Shrikes and five Green-winged Teals. |

| Monday 28th March 2016 | ||
| The highlight of the day was the continuing Thayer's Gull in Suffolk at Minsmere. Elsewhere, lingering rarities comprised the Glaucous-winged Gull still in County Cork,
Gyr on the Western Isles, two Penduline Tits still together in Cleveland,
single Long-billed Dowitchers in both Leicestershire and Northumberland, King Eider
in Fife, Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, and a
Hooded Merganser showed again in Forth. New White-billed Divers were located in Aberdeenshire, Fife and Moray. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Dorset), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), American Wigeon (West Sussex), Ring-necked Duck (Staffordshire), two Shorelarks (Cleveland), four each of both Cattle Egret and Great Grey Shrike, five Glossy Ibises, six Lapland Buntings, and eight each of both Surf Scoter and Ring-billed Gull. Migrants included a Tree Pipit, two Ring Ouzels, five Arctic Skuas, six Garganey, seven Common Terns and 21 Ospreys. Late news concerned a Baltic Gull on 26th March at Shawell, Leicestershire that was bearing a Norwegian ring, having been ringed as a chick in the nest at Buholmen, Somna, Nordland, Norway on 25th June 2006: only the third ringing recovery of this form in Britain. |

| A smart adult Thayer's Gull spent this afternoon on the scrape at
Minsmere RSPB, Suffolk.
Lingering rarities included the Black Scoter in County Kerry, Gyr in the Western Isles, Long-billed Dowitchers in Leicestershire and Northumberland, two Penduline Tits in Cleveland, White-billed Diver in Moray and King Eider in County Wexford. Scarcity highlights included a Hoopoe, a Pallas's Warbler, a Great Grey Shrike, two Yellow-browed Warblers, two Little Auks, two American Wigeon, three Surf Scoters, three Green-winged Teals, four Ring-necked Ducks, four Lapland Buntings and five Shorelarks. |

| Lingering rarities seen today included the Black Scoter in County

| Rarities today comrpised Penduline Tits in Cleveland (2) and Norfolk,
Lesser Scaup still in Cornwall, and single Long-billed Dowitchers in Hampshire, Leicestershire and Northumberland. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Dorset), Little Bunting (Surrey), Hoopoe (Staffordshire), American Wigeon (Somerset), two each of Richard's Pipit, Shorelark, Surf Scoter, Ring-necked Duck, Rough-legged Buzzard and Cattle Egret, four Glossy Ibises, five Ring-billed Gulls, nine Lapland Buntings and 12 Great Grey Shrikes. |

| Rarities today comprised Penduline Tits in both Cleveland (2) and Norfolk, two
White-billed Divers together on the Western Isles, Long-billed Dowitchers
in both Hampshire and Northumberland, and single Lesser Scaups still in Cornwall and Glamorgan. Scarcities included Little Bunting (Surrey), Hoopoe (West Midlands), Surf Scoter (North Yorkshire), Cattle Egret (Kent) and Glossy Ibis (Devon), with two each of Richard's Pipit, Rough-legged Buzzard and Ring-necked Duck, three Waxwings (together in Highland), six Great Grey Shrikes, and eight each of both Lapland Bunting and Ring-billed Gull. Spring arrivals included Tree Pipit, three Ring Ouzels, four House Martins, nine Ospreys and 10 Garganey. |

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Dorset), Little Bunting (Surrey), Hoopoe (West Midlands), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), Surf Scoter (Isles of Scilly), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Cattle Egret (Kent), two each of Richard's Pipit, Ring-necked Duck, Rough-legged Buzzard and Ring-billed Gull, three of both Glossy Ibis and Great Grey Shrike, and seven Lapland Buntings (together in Norfolk). |
