| Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Ducks still in Aberdeenshire and Highland, the
Black-winged Stilt in Dorset, the Laughing Gull on the Wirral (and briefly visiting Merseyside today), two
Penduline Tits in Devon, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Bonaparte's Gulls in Dorset and County Waterford,
White-billed Diver on the Western Isles, and Lesser Scaups in both Glamorgan and County Sligo. Scarce migrants were headlined by a total of six Night Herons on the Isles of Scilly, Little Bunting (Glamorgan), two each of American Wigeon, Cattle Egret and Waxwing, three of Surf Scoter, Rough-legged Buzzard and Lapland Bunting, four Ring-necked Ducks (together in Oxfordshire), five Green-winged Teals, and eight each of Shorelark and Great Grey Shrike. Gull totals included 23 Iceland, 11 Glaucous, three Kumlien's, and single Caspian and Ring-billed. |

| Saturday 4th April 2015 | ||

| A drake King Eider was off Spey Bay, Moray at 2pm, with another
sighting 16 miles to the west off Burghead at 12.05pm.
Lingering rarities seen today included both the Scottish Harlequin Ducks, Black-winged Stilt and Bonaparte's Gull in Dorset (with others of the latter species in County Waterford and Glamorgan), Laughing Gull in Wirral, two Penduline Tits in Devon, King Eider in Fife and single Lesser Scaups in Glamorgan and County Roscommon. The Portsoy, Aberdeenshire White-billed Diver count was boosted by a boat trip, and rose to at least ten individuals. Scarcity highlights included at least five Night Herons in the Isles of Scilly, Serin in Dorset, Hoopoe in Worcestershire, Little Bunting in Glamorgan and a group of four Ring-necked Ducks in Oxfordshire. |

| The first Black-winged Stilt of the year was discovered this morning
at Abbotsbury Swannery, Dorset.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Harlequin Duck and three White-billed Divers in Aberdeenshire, American Coot in the Western Isles, Black Scoter in County Kerry, Black Duck in the Isles of Scilly, American Herring Gull in Cornwall, Laughing Gull in Wirral, single Bonaparte's Gulls in Dorset and Glamorgan, two Penduline Tits in Devon and Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan. The best of the rest involved a Serin in Norfolk, Little Bunting in Glamorgan, American Wigeon in Nottinghamshire and at least four Night Herons in the Isles of Scilly. |

| Thursday 2nd April 2015 | ||
|
||
| Long staying rarities still present today included the Harlequin Duck
in Highland, two Penduline Tits in Devon, Laughing Gull in Wirral,
Bonaparte's Gull in Dorset, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Dublin,
White-billed Diver in Aberdeenshire and Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan.
Scarcity highlights involved three Night Herons on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly, Little Bunting in Glamorgan, single American Wigeons in Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire and White-tailed Eagle in County Durham. |

| The Sussex Alpine Swift remained in Crawley all day, and roosted again
this evening. Other lingering rarities seen today included the Harlequin Duck
in Aberdeenshire, American Coot in the Western Isles, two Penduline
Tits in Devon, Laughing Gull in Wirral, single Bonaparte's Gulls
in Dorset, Glamorgan and County Waterford, Lesser Yellowlegs in County
Dublin and two White-billed Divers in Aberdeenshire.
Scarcities included a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Richard's Pipit, a Little Bunting, a Lapland Bunting, a White-tailed Eagle, a Balearic Shearwater, a Glossy Ibis, two Surf Scoters, two American Wigeon, two Rough-legged Buzzards, two Cattle Egrets, four Ring-necked Ducks, six Great White Egrets, six Great Grey Shrikes, seven Green-winged Teals and 41 Waxwings. Gulls included a Kumlien's, a Caspian, four Ring-billed, nine Glaucous and 11 Iceland. |

| The first widely twitchable Alpine Swift for the year was in Crawley,
West Sussex today. It was found mid morning, and was present on and off in the
area until it roosted on a building this evening.
Lingering rarities still present today included the Harlequin Ducks in Aberdeenshire and Highland, American Coot in the Western Isles, two Penduline Tits in Devon, King Eider in Fife, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, Laughing Gull in Wirral and Bonaparte's Gulls in Glamorgan (two) and County Waterford. |

| Rarities today comprised both the Harlequin Ducks still in Aberdeenshire and Highland,
American Coot on the Western Isles, Laughing Gull on the Wirral,
Blue-winged Teal on the Orkney Isles, two Penduline Tits together in Devon,
Bonaparte's Gulls in Dorset, Glamorgan (2) and County Waterford, Lesser Scaups in Ayrshire, Glamorgan and County Sligo, and six
White-billed Divers together in Aberdeenshire. Scarcities included American Wigeon (Nottinghamshire), Yellow-browed Warbler (Worcestershire), two each of Little Bunting, Lapland Bunting and Glossy Ibis, four of Surf Scoter and Rough-legged Buzzard, five Ring-necked Ducks, eight Shorelarks, 10 Great Grey Shrikes and 22 Waxwings. Notable gulls included 21 Iceland, nine Ring-billed, nine Glaucous, two Caspian and a Kumlien's. Spring migration is still slow with just 10 White Wagtails, six Willow Warblers, six Swallows, five Garganey, two Tree Pipits and a single Osprey seen today. |
