| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a White-rumped Sandpiper in County Antrim at Jordanstown. Rarities elsewhere comprised the
Blyth's Pipit still in West Yorkshire, Eastern Black Redstart on the Isles of Scilly,
Lesser Yellowlegs in East Sussex, and single Lesser Scaups in both Ayrshire and Powys. Scarcities included Barred Warbler (Dorset), American Wigeon (Cornwall), two each of Cattle Egret, Surf Scoter and Ring-billed Gull, three each of both Richard's Pipit and Ring-necked Duck, four of Rough-legged Buzzard, Shorelark and Lapland Bunting, seven of Iceland Gull and Glaucous Gull, and nine each of Great Grey Shrike and Tundra Bean Goose. |

| The highlight of the day was a Lesser Yellowlegs reported at Pett Level, East Sussex. Rarities elsewere comprised the
Blyth's Pipit still in West Yorkshire, and the Eastern Black Redstart still on the Isles of Scilly. Scarcities included Barred Warbler in Dorset, Yellow-browed Warblers in Devon and Dorset, Richard's Pipit in East Sussex, Surf Scoter in Suffolk, American Wigeon in Cornwall, Ring-necked Duck in Northamptonshire, and thee scattered Rough-legged Buzzards. |

| Rarities today comprised the Blyth's Pipit still in West Yorkshire, Eastern Black Redstart on the Isles of Scilly, two
Penduline Tits together in Devon, Richardson's Cackling Goose on the Western Isles,
Spotted Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Dublin and
Lesser Scaup in Lothian. Scarcities included three Richard's Pipits, Barred Warbler (Dorset), Rose-coloured Starling (Somerset), eight Ring-billed Gulls, and a Ring-necked Duck in Berkshire. |

| Sunday 21st December 2014 | ||

||
| Belated news came of a probable Snowy Owl reported at St. Buryan in
west Cornwall yesterday. It was seen in flight over fields south of the village
briefly.
The rest of the rarity news was all of long staying birds. Top attraction was still the Blyth's Pipit in West Yorkshire, which showed well once or twice today. Elsewhere the Bonaparte's Gull was still at Dawlish Warren in Devon, and wildfowl consisted of the Ferruginous Duck at Blashford in Hampshire, Lesser Scaups in Ayrshire and Lothian and the Richardson's Cackling Goose on the Outer Hebrides. On Scilly the Eastern Black Redstart remained on St.Mary's. The Barred Warbler remained at Portland in Dorset, a total of seven Pomarine Skuas flew past Kent, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Fife and Angus, Shorelarks were in Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Lancashire and Great Grey Shrikes were in Northumberland, Norfolk, Lancashire, Derbyshire and Hampshire. There were also nine Rough-legged Buzzards, seven Great White and three Cattle Egrets and four American Wigeons. |

| A first-winter American Herring Gull was discovered today at Killybegs,
County Donegal.
Lingering rarities included the Blyth's Pipit in West Yorkshire, American Coot in the Western Isles, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Pacific Diver in Cornwall, two Penduline Tits and a Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Dublin, single Lesser Scaups in Lothian, Ayrshire and Glamorgan, Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and Eastern Black Redstart in the Isles of Scilly. |

at Linlithgow Loch, Lothian, Ferruginous Duck at Blashford Lakes,
Hampshire, Richardson's Cackling Goose on Islay, Argyll and Eastern
Black Redstart at Shark's Pit, Isles of Scilly.
Scarcity highlights included a Wryneck, a Barred Warbler, a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Grey Phalarope, a Green-winged Teal, two Richard's Pipits, three American Wigeons, three Ring-billed Gulls, five Shorelarks, six Surf Scoters, eight Great Grey Shrikes and eight Rough-legged Buzzards. |

| Significant late news concerned a Brunnich's Guillemot which was seen
from the Uig (Highland) to Lochmaddy (Western Isles) ferry last Sunday.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Blyth's Pipit in West Yorkshire, Ivory Gull and Richardson's Cackling Goose in the Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Dublin, King Eider in Shetland, single Lesser Scaups in Ayrshire and Lothian and Eastern Black Redstart in the Isles of Scilly. |

Richardson's Cackling Goose new on Baleshare, Western Isles. Scarcities included Barred Warbler (Dorset), Yellow-browed Warbler (Devon), Surf Scoter (Suffolk), Little Auk (County Down), two each of Richard's Pipit, Cattle Egret and Black Brant, three of Lapland Bunting and Black Brant, four each of Ring-necked Duck, Great Grey Shrike and Shorelark, five Iceland Gulls, seven Caspian Gulls, eight Rough-legged Buzzards, 10 Great White Egrets and a total of 21 Tundra Bean Geese. |
