Northern Bottlenose Whales in the Wash, August 2010

 

Following a couple of sightings of two Northern Bottlenose Whales in The Wash video footage confirming the reports has come to light.  The animals were seen circa 3mls offshore NE of Gedney Drove End in the vicinity of Wisbech No.1 buoy.  Northern Bottlenose Whales are a deep water species which feed on squid and have been recorded diving to depths of 1,400m for up to two hours.
