| Steve Blain brought this dark eyed variant to my attention. An article in British Birds from Aug 2017, explained that dark eyed variants are extremely rare. This polymorphism has been recorded in this species only at Minsmere and Walberswick, but the proportion of these dark eyed birds has diminished in recent years. |
