A cropped record shot to prove to all those pilgrims who drive round "Wolferton Triangle" on trips to Norfolk that the Golden Pheasant does show on occasion - on 4th February 2016, it was feeding on either side of the northern lane for a good five minutes around 10.05.

Two juvenile/first-winter Penduline Tits were found on 31st October at this private site between Upper Caldecote and Broom that regrettably doesn't have any public access viewing points. They stayed until 2nd November when this photo was taken.

Two juveniles at a private site, regrettably with no public access viewing paths, were found between Upper Caldecote and Broom, Bedfordshire on 31st October and stayed until 2nd November when this photo was taken.

A much cropped photo of the (presumed) second-winter drake (dull pinky legs, not bright orangy as likely on an eclipse drake) was in excellent plumage condition, kept well away from the shore, behaving normally for a wild bird - it had an as yet indeterminate small metal ring on its right leg and . . . more

At Stewartby Lake. Following a Bonxie seen at Brogborough Lake this morning, this local treat appeared at nearby Stewartby Lake at lunchtime. Both flew off north-east at 10.30 and 1.45 respectively

At Furzenhall Farm. The first photo of this bird, a record shot, taken at 3.13pm. I'd visited the site to follow up a report of a G G Shrike and was stunned to find this instead and promptly spread the news. 40+ birders got to see it before dusk - the first L G Shrike in Beds since a corpse in 1907!
