Feeding with Reed Buntings and similar to a female R.B. but distinguished from them because considerably smaller, has orange patch on the cheek and a white eye-ring. Well outside its normal range here in Wales. The little bunting breeds across the taiga of the far north-east of Europe and northern Asia. It is migratory, wintering in the subtropics in northern India, southern China and the northern parts of south-east Asia. A rare vagrant to Western Europe. |
