I was up at Horseupcleugh on the Lammermuir Hills in the Scottish Borders. I was looking for red grouse on territory when I came across this snow bunting at the road side. I don't think I have seen one of these beautiful little birds up on the Lammermuir Hill.
I sat and watched her for a while, she was picking up grit on the edge of the road then flying up on to a fence post to sit for a while, then fly back down to the roadside again. I watch for some time before getting the camera and following her down the road. It was a nice moment she didn't seam phased by me at all and came quite close. This sort of thing doesn't happen very often when you seam to connect with the thing you photographing and when it does, its just brilliant. |
