| The highlight of the day was the reappearance of the Sooty Tern at Coquet Island in Northumberland, which continued showing throughout the day.
The new rarity today was a Blyth's Reed Warbler at North Ronaldsay in Orkney. Rarities included a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney, a White-throated Sparrow in Fife, a White-winged Scoter in Lothian, a Red-footed Falcon in Lothian, a Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire/Leicestershire, a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, White-rumped Sandpipers in Norfolk and East Yorkshire, a Semipalmated Sandpiper in Orkney, a Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, and Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk. |

| Discoveries today included, in Scotland, an Iberian Chiffchaff in Aberdeenshire at St Cyrus, and a Baird's Sandpiper in Shetland at Pool of Virkie, Mainland; this is the fourth of the latter species to be located between Britain and Ireland in 2026. Continuing rarities confirmed as still present today comprised the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/ Oxfordshire border, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater and Semipalmated Sandpiper together in Orkney, Black-winged Kite and two Black Storks in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit and four Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, White-throated Sparrow and Lesser Scaup in Fife, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Red-footed Falcon in Lothian, and White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford and East Yorkshire. |

| Discoveries today included, in Ireland, a Fea's Petrel species passing Bridges of Ross, County Clare, and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Rosslare Back Strand, County Wexford. Continuing rarities confirmed as still present today comprised the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/ Oxfordshire border, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney, Black-winged Kite and Black Stork in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit and two Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, White-throated Sparrow in Fife, Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, American Black Tern in Northumberland, and the Red-footed Falcon in Lothian. |

| New rarities today were a Red-footed Falcon near Gressenhall in Norfolk, a Baird's Sandpiper at Sheskinmore Lough in County Donegal, and the exciting news of 11 Zitting Cisticolas at Walberswick in Suffolk, a 2nd year of successful breeding.
Rarities included a Hooded Merganser in Suffolk, a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, a Black Stork in Norfolk (highly mobile across several sites), a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, a White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, a Semipalmated Sandpiper in Orkney, a White-throated Sparrow in Fife, a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney, a Red-footed Falcon in Lothian, White-winged Scoters in Lothian, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, and a Bonaparte's Gull in Gloucestershire. |

| New rarities today were a Red-throated Pipit at St Columb Minor in Cornwall, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Handa Island in Highland, and a Bonaparte's Gull at Criccieth in Gwynedd.
Rarities included a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney, a White-winged Scoter in Lothian, a Red-footed Falcon in Lothian, a Black Stork in Norfolk, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, further White-rumped Sandpipers in Norfolk, Cornwall and Wirral, a Greenish Warbler in Shetland, a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, and a White-throated Sparrow in Fife. |

| An unexpected major find today was a White-throated Sparrow on the Isle of May in Fife. Elsewhere, White-rumped Sandpipers were the order of the day with new birds being found at Dungarvan in County Waterford, Youghal in County Cork, Meols in Cheshire and Seaforth in Merseyside, with birds also still lingering on Scilly and in Norfolk. A Fea's Petrel flew past Pendeen in Cornwall and in Kent, Sandwich Bay had both Red-rumped Swallow and Black Kite fly through.
At least one Black Stork continued to tour the east of Norfolk and Suffolk and, in Orkney the Blue-cheeked Bee-eater remained, at least in the morning and on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, the Long-tailed Shrike was still in residence, as was the Hudsonian Godwit on the Suffolk/Essex border. Other lingering rarities included Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Red-footed Falcon in Aberdeenshire, Bonaparte's Gulls in Kent and Gloucestershire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Orkney and Greenish Warbler in Shetland. |

| New rarities today were a Greenish Warbler at Sumburgh Head in Shetland, a Red-footed Falcon at Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire, a Hooded Merganser at Alton Water in Suffolk, White-rumped Sandpipers at Porth Reservoir at Formby Point in Merseyside, and a Caspian Tern at the Otter Estuary in Devon.
Rarities included Black Storks in Suffolk and Norfolk, a White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, a White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford, a Red-footed Falcon in Lothian, White-winged Scoters in Lothian, a Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, a Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire/Leicestershire, a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney, and a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk. |

| The two finds of the day were a Sooty Tern at Coquet Island in Northumberland, with a Bridled Tern also present on the Farne Islands.
New rarities were a Red-footed Falcon at Aberlady Bay in Lothian, a White-rumped Sandpiper at St Agnes in Scilly, and a Caspian Tern at Minsmere RSPB in Suffolk. Rarities included a Marsh Sandpiper in Norfolk, a Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, a Hudsonian Godwit at Cattawade on the Suffolk/Essex border, White-winged Scoters in Lothian, a Semipalmated Sandpiper in Orkney, a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney, Bonaparte's Gulls in Kent and Gloucestershire, Black Storks in Suffolk, a White-rumped Sandpiper in County Waterford, an American Black Tern in Northumberland, and a Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border. |

| The highlight of the day was the relocation of the Blue-cheeked Bee-eater in Orkney on North Ronaldsay. In Ireland a Fea's Petrel species was located from a pelagic off Seven Heads, County Cork. The two itinerant juvenile Black Storks remained overnight in Lincolnshire and then by late afternoon had arrived on the Suffolk coast where the remained at Hemley until late in the evening. Elsewhere, continuing rarities confirmed as still present comprised the Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit between Essex and Suffolk, two White-winged Scoters together in Lothian, Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Orkney, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Ferruginous Duck on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border, and single White-rumped Sandpipers in each of Cornwall, Kent and Norfolk. |

| Saturday 1st August 2026 | ||

| Discoveries today included a White-rumped Sandpiper at Tramore Backstrand, County Waterford; the fourteenth to be discovered in Britain and Ireland so far this autumn, with others remaining today in Cornwall, Kent, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. The two juvenile Black Storks remained together by the Dee Estuary in Cheshire and Wirral until 13:19 but by 17:30 they had crossed England and arrived at Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire from where they later departed south. Elsewhere, continuing rarities confirmed as still present comprised the Long-tailed Shrike on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit between Essex and Suffolk, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Lesser Scaup in Fife, and in Norfolk a Marsh Sandpiper found yesterday at Breydon Water showed again there this evening. |
