| Discoveries today included a Spotted Sandpiper in Cambridgeshire at Dernford Farm Reservoir, Semipalmated Sandpiper in the Isles of Scilly on St Mary's, and White-rumped Sandpiper in Shetland on Foula, whilst seawatchers logged in Cornwall a Barolo Shearwater at Cape Cornwall, and in Kent a Laughing Gull at North Foreland.
Rarities confirmed as still present were the Least Tern in County Dublin, Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Caspian Tern in Norfolk, territorial Savi's Warbler in Lincolnshire, Blyth's Reed Warbler in Borders, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Lesser Scaup in Greater Manchester, and Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire. |

| New highlights today included a Barolo Shearwater flying west past Lizard Point in Cornwall mid-morning. A male Black-headed Bunting was found on Foula in Shetland, and a White-winged Scoter was noted off Kinnaber in Angus.
Continuing rarities included Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Caspian Tern in Norfolk, Blyth's Reed Warbler in the Borders, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Least Tern in Co. Dublin, and Savi's Warbler in Lincolnshire. |

| Single Caspian Terns were found at Cley, Norfolk and at Greatstone-on-Sea, Kent.
The Blyth's Reed Warbler remained in Borders, as did the Savi's Warbler in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaup in Greater Manchester, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent. |

| Kent provided the highlights again today with the Zitting Cisticola remaining at Foreness Point albeit only present early morning, and a Caspian Tern joined the lingering Bonaparte's Gull at Oare Marshes.
Elsewhere rarities comprised the Western Sandpiper still in Ayrshire, Black-winged Pratincole still in Shetland, territorial Blyth's Reed Warbler in Borders, Lesser Yellowlegs again in Hampshire, American Black Tern in Northumberland, and Ferruginous Ducks in both Leicestershire and Warwickshire. |

| There was major breaking news this evening when a singing Zitting Cisticola was found in coastal grass at Foreness Point in East Kent. Apart from a very brief bird last year, also in East Kent, this is the first one in the UK since 2009, and, with only 10 accepted records, it remains very rare.
Elsewhere an adult Laughing Gull flew round the gull colony at the Calf of Man for a short time, then flew north, whilst back in Kent, the regular summering adult Bonaparte's Gull was found again at Oare Marshes. Two Ferruginous Ducks were found at Linford Lakes in Buckinghamshire. Lingering rarities included the Western Sandpiper Ayrshire, the Blyth's Reed Warbler in Borders, the Great Reed Warbler and Black-winged Pratincole in Shetland, the Lesser Scaup in Greater Manchester and the Lesser Yellowlegs re-appeared at Pennington Marshes in Hampshire, but there was no sign of the White-winged Scoter in Lothian. |

| Tuesday 1st July 2025 | ||

| A Collared Pratincole was at Cley, Norfolk briefly, a Caspian Tern flew past North Foreland, Kent and an Eastern Subalpine Warbler was on Fair Isle, Shetland.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Black-winged Pratincole in Shetland, Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Blyth's Reed Warbler in Borders, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Lesser Scaup in Greater Manchester, Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire and American Black Tern in Northumberland. |

| A Pacific Golden Plover was found at Llanelli WWT, Carmarthenshire and a Lesser Scaup was at Pennington Flash, Greater Manchester.

| A second-summer drake White-winged Scoter was found with Eiders off Musselburgh in Lothian this morning and a Blyth's Reed Warbler was trapped and ringed at Gibraltar Point in Lincolnshire. Also in Lincolnshire, the Collared Pratincole was still around this morning at Frampton Marsh but then flew north. However, what is presumably the same bird appeared at Ouse Fen in Cambridgeshire this evening.
The Song Sparrow appears to have departed from Tory Island, County Donegal but the Western Sandpiper was still to be found at Maidens Harbour in Ayrshire. Other lingering rarities included Least Tern in County Dublin, Black-winged Pratincole in Shetland, Ferruginous Ducks in Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire, American Black Tern still in Northumberland but now on Inner Farne, Blyth's Reed Warbler in Borders, Great Reed Warbler in Yorkshire and Savi's Warbler in Lincolnshire. |

| A Ferruginous Duck was found at Shawell in Leicestershire this morning, with another Ferruginous Duck still remaining at Draycote Water in Warwickshire.
The Song Sparrow was still singing in a garden on Tory Island, County Donegal, the Western Sandpiper continued its stay at Maidens Harbour in Ayrshire and the Collared Pratincole remained a popular attraction at Frampton in Lincolnshire. Elsewhere, lingering rarities included the Blyth's Reed Warbler in Borders, Savi's Warbler in Lincolnshire, Great Reed Warblers in Yorkshire and Shetland and Least Tern in County Dublin. |

| A singing Blyth's Reed Warbler was found at Upsettlington in Borders, and, in Suffolk, a Black Kite flew north over Benacre.
Lingering rarities included the Song Sparrow in County Donegal, Great Reed Warblers in East Yorkshire and Shetland, Savi's Warbler and Collared Pratincole in Lincolnshire, Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire and Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire. |
