| New discoveries today included an American Buff-bellied Pipit on Lundy, Devon, a Red-throated Pipit at Nanjizal, Cornwall, a Red-rumped Swallow at Hopton, Norfolk and a Bonaparte's Gull at Llys-y-Fran Reservoir, Pembrokes. A Spotted Sandpiper was identified at Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex, having been present nearly three weeks.
Other lingering rarities included the Myrtle Warbler, Wilson's Snipe, Red-flanked Bluetail and two Dusky Warblers in Scilly, Hume's Warblers in County Durham, Northumberland (two) and Borders, Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Lesser Yellowlegs in Orkney, Bonaparte's Gull in County Antrim and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo. |

| The sixth Myrtle Warbler for the Isles of Scilly was found at Old Town Church today, after a gap of over 17 years. A Penduline Tit was at How Hill, Norfolk and a Black Kite flew over Frampton, Gloucestershire.
Lingering rarities included the Wilson's Snipe, Red-flanked Bluetail and Dusky Warbler in Scilly, Hume's Warblers in Borders, Northumberland (two) and County Durham and Pallid Harrier and three Ferrugnous Ducks in Norfolk. Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Little Bunting, a Richard's Pipit, a Lapland Bunting, three Great Grey Shrikes, four Yellow-browed Warblers, seven Shorelarks, at least 218 Waxwings, a Rough-legged Buzzard, two Grey Phalaropes, a Green-winged Teal, four Ring-necked Ducks, a Tundra Bean Goose, two Taiga Bean Geese, six Glossy Ibises, eight Leach's Petrels, 22 Little Auks, a Long-tailed Skua, five Pomarine Skuas, two Sabine's Gulls, a Ring-billed Gull and a Kumlien's Gull. |

Discoveries today included a Hume's Warbler in Northumberland at Low Newton-by-the-Sea, a Bonaparte's Gull in County Antrim at Ballygalley, and a Black Kite reported in Kent at Istead Rise. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in both Borders and Northumberland, Penduline Tit in Cheshire, Red-flanked Bluetail on the Isles of Scilly, and King Eider on the Shetland Isles. Scarcities included American Golden Plover and Little Bunting (Orkney Isles), Richard's Pipit (Scilly), Great Grey Shrike (Hampshire), Lapland Bunting (Essex), Snow Goose (Dumfries and Galloway), two each of both American Wigeon and Ring-necked Duck, three Yellow-browed Warblers, and a total of 118 Waxwings. |

Rarities in Ireland today comprised Hooded Merganser, Black Duck, and Cackling Goose in County Mayo, Lesser Scaup still in County Donegal, and in County Kerry a Bonaparte's Gull new at Tralee. In Britain the Isabelline Wheatear remained in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier and two Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in Borders and Northumberland, Penduline Tit in Cheshire, Red-flanked Bluetail on the Isles of Scilly, and a Red-rumped Swallow in Kent. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Little Bunting (Orkney Isles), Hoopoe (Kent), American Wigeon (Somerset), Glossy Ibis (Cheshire), two each of Richard's Pipit, Lapland Bunting, Sabine's Gull, Snow Goose, and Green-winged Teal, three Great Grey Shrikes, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 191 Waxwings. |

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Wilson's Snipe and Red-flanked Bluetail on the Isles of Scilly, Isabelline Wheatears in both County Cork and Gwynedd, Hume's Warbler in Northumberland, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, and Long-billed Dowitcher and three Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk. Rarities today comprised the Isabelline Wheatear still in Gwynedd, Hume's Warbler and Black Scoter both still in Northumberland, Pallid Harriers in Cornwall and Norfolk, three Penduline Tits together in East Sussex, Red-flanked Bluetail on the Isles of Scilly, Dusky Warbler in Essex, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, King Eider on the Shetland Isles, White-billed Diver in Highland, Long-billed Dowitcher and three Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, and Lesser Yellowlegs and two Cackling Geese on the Western Isles. Scarcities included Short-toed Lark (Cornwall), Common Rosefinch (Western Isles), American Wigeon (Somerset), Surf Scoter (County Cork), Dotterel (County Wexford), Long-tailed Skua (Cornwall), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Hoopoe, and Black Brant, three of Richard's Pipit, Great Grey Shrike, Shorelark, Lapland Bunting, Sabine's Gull, and Great Shearwater, four Green-winged Teals, six Glossy Ibises, nine Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 191 Waxwings. |

| In Cornwall, a Black-faced Bunting was trapped and ringed in a private area at Nanjizal Valley. It was released nearby where access was available, but it wasn't seen again following release. Also in the county a Desert Wheatear was at Pendennis Point, whilst, elsewhere, a Hume's Warbler was at Whitley Bay, Northumberland, three Penduline Tits were at West Rise Marsh, Sussex, a Lesser Yellowlegs was at Balemore, Western Isles and White-billed Divers were off Long Nab, Yorkshire and Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire.
Lingering rarities seen today included Red-flanked Bluetail and four Dusky Warblers in Scilly (with others of the latter in Yorkshire and Norfolk), Hume's Warbler in Northumberland, Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier and three Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, Lesser Scaup in Western Isles and single Cackling Geese in Western Isles and County Sligo. |

| New discoveries today included a brief Ross's Gull at Loch of Spiggie, Shetland, a Desert Wheatear at Goldcliff Pools, Gwent, a Hume's Warbler at Druridge Pools, Northumberland, a Dusky Warbler at The Naze, Essex, an Olive-backed Pipit on Lundy, Devon and a Baird's Sandpiper at Hollesley, Suffolk.
Lingering rarities included the Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Red-flanked Bluetail and two Dusky Warblers in Scilly, Dusky Warbler in Yorkshire, two Red-rumped Swallows in Kent, Pallid Harriers in Norfolk and Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitcher and two Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, Black Duck in County Mayo, Lesser Scaups in Western Isles and County Donegal, Cackling Goose in Western Isles and White-billed Diver in Fife. Discoveries tyoday included a Lesser Scaup in Argyll on Tiree, a White-billed Diver in Fife off the Isle of May, Red-rumped Swallows in Kent at Kingsdown (2) and Norfolk at Horsey, and in County Kerry the American Coot returned to winter at Lough Yganavan. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier in Cornwall, Radde's Warbler and two Dusky Warblers together on the Isles of Scilly, Dusky Warbler in North Yorkshire, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Scaup and Cackling Goose on the Western Isles, and two Ferruginous Ducks together in Norfolk. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler and Hoopoe (Kent), Richard's Pipit (Scilly), Common Rosefinch and Lapland Bunting (Western Isles), Red-necked Phalarope (Dorset), Ring-billed Gull (County Louth), American Wigeon (Somerset), Glossy Ibis (Cheshire), two Great Shearwaters, six each of Ring-necked Duck and Long-tailed Skua, 11 Sabine's Gulls, and a total of 40 Waxwings. Significant late news from yesterday concerned an American Purple Gallinule photographed in Somerset at Dunster Beach, and a Grey-cheeked Thrush in County Wicklow at East Coast Nature Reserve; however, neither could be located today. |

Discoveries today included Pallid Swifts in Dorset at Swanage and Lincolnshire at Mablethorpe, a Red-rumped Swallow in Lothian at Gifford, a Dusky Warbler in North Yorkshire at Filey, and on the Isles of Scilly a Radde's Warbler together with two Dusky Warblers on St Mary's. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were Isabelline Wheatears in both County Cork and Gwynedd, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Pallid Harrier in Cornwall, Pallid Swift in Moray, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on the Orkney Isles, and in Norfolk Long-billed Dowitcher and three Ferruginous Ducks. Scarcities included Sabine's Gull (Hertfordshire), Common Rosefinch (Western Isles), Green-winged Teal (Highland), Snow Goose and Black Brant (Norfolk), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Richard's Pipit, American Wigeon, and Shorelark, six Lapland Buntings, six Glossy Ibises, eight Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 85 Waxwings. |
