| New discoveries today included a Black Stork over Brighton, East Sussex and Bee-eaters at Sea Palling (two) and Winterton, both Norfolk.
Lingering rarities still present included the Least Tern in County Dublin, Gull-billed Tern in Dorset, Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, Great Reed Warblers in Nottinghamshire and Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Red-rumped Swallow in Orkney, Spotted Sandpiper in Norfolk, Little Bittern in Scilly, Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire, King Eider in Lothian and American Black Tern in Northumberland. Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Bluethroat, a Common Rosefinch, seven Rose-coloured Starlings, an American Golden Plover, a Montagu's Harrier, a Ring-necked Duck, three American Wigeon, 12 Glossy Ibises and a Ring-billed Gull. |

| Discoveries today included a Greenish Warbler on the Shetland Isles on Unst, and a Blyth's Reed Warbler on the Western Isles on Barra. Rarities elsewhere included the Gull-billed Tern showing again in Dorset, the Least Tern still in County Dublin, Black-browed Albatross in East Yorkshire, Little Bittern on the Isles of Scilly, Spotted Sandpiper in Norfolk, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Norfolk and Nottinghamshire, American Black Tern in Northumberland, King Eider in Lothian, White-billed Diver on Shetland, and Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire. Scarcities included Red-spotted Bluethroat (Fife), Red-breasted Flycatcher and Green-winged Teal (Shetland), Temminck's Stint (Scilly), American Wigeon (Forth), Ring-necked Duck (Kent), two each of Marsh Warbler, Common Rosefinch, and Golden Oriole, three Red-backed Shrikes, four Rose-coloured Starlings, and a total of 12 Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was a Spotted Sandpiper at Titchwell; the first record in Norfolk for 28 years. Discoveries elsewhere included a
Broad-billed Sandpiper on the Shetland Isles at Grutness, a Kentish Plover in Glamorgan at Broughton Bay, and a
Blyth's Reed Warbler on the Isle of Man at Point of Ayre, whilst brief encounters included a
Red-footed Falcon in Cornwall, a Black Kite in Devon, Red-rumped Swallow
on the Orkney Isles, and single Bee-eaters in both Cornwall and East Yorkshire. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Least Tern in County Dublin, Short-toed Eagle in Highland, Black-browed Albatross in East Yorkshire, Little Bittern on the Isles of Scilly, Squacco Heron in County Cork, American Black Tern in Northumberland, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Norfolk and Nottinghamshire, White-billed Diver on Shetland, and Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (North Yorkshire), Red-spotted Bluethroat and Icterine Warbler (Fife), Purple Heron (South Yorkshire), Rose-coloured Starling (Cornwall), Red-backed Shrike (East Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope and Temminck's Stint (Scilly), Pectoral Sandpiper (Northumberland), Long-tailed Skua (Highland), two each of both Marsh Warbler and Golden Oriole, and a total of 14 Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Black-headed Bunting on the Shetland Isles on Unst whilst nearby on Mainland both King Eider and
White-billed Diver were seen. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Least Tern still in County Dublin, Short-toed Eagle in Highland, Black-browed Albatross in East Yorkshire, Little Bittern on the Isles of Scilly, Squacco Heron in County Cork, Black Duck in County Mayo, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Norfolk and Nottinghamshire, American Black Tern in Northumberland, King Eider in Lothian, Black Kite in Cornwall, and Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (North Yorkshire), Common Rosefinch (Western Isles), Rose-coloured Starling (Devon), American Golden Plover (County Wexford), Ring-billed Gull (County Mayo), American Wigeon (Forth), two each of Bluethroat, Red-backed Shrike, and Golden Oriole, and a total of 14 Glossy Ibises. Significant late news from yesterday concerned a Collared Pratincole in Devon on Horsey Island, and two Bee-eaters together in Somerset at Nailsea. |

| Today in Ireland the Least Tern remained in County Dublin, Black Duck
in County Mayo, Squacco Heron in County Cork, and both White-rumped Sandpiper and American Golden Plover together in County Wexford Meanwhile in Britain rarities comprised the first Wilson's Petrel of the year at sea off the Isles of Scilly, the Black-browed Albatross still in East Yorkshire, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Little Bittern on the Isles of Scilly, Eastern Subalpine Warbler, Red-rumped Swallow, King Eider, and White-billed Diver all on the Shetland Isles, Subalpine Warbler species in Norfolk, Great Reed Warbler in Nottinghamshire, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Scaup in Merseyside, and Ferruginous Duck still in Staffordshire, whilst brief encounters included a Red-rumped Swallow in Lancashire, Black Kite in Kent, and Bee-eater in Suffolk. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Cheshire), Serin (Argyll), Icterine Warbler and Hoopoe (East Yorkshire), Wryneck (Shetland), Red-necked Phalarope (Norfolk), American Wigeon (Forth), Grey-headed Wagtail (Pembrokeshire), two each of Marsh Warbler, Purple Heron, Golden Oriole, and Rose-coloured Starling, three Common Rosefinches, five Red-backed Shrikes, and a total of 22 Glossy Ibises. |

News came out of a White-throated Needletail that had landed on a ship in the North Sea between Orkney and Fair Isle whilst on Unst, Shetland a male Moltoni’s Warbler was found at Norwick New rarities included Eastern Subalpine Warbler on Shetland, Red-rumped Swallow on Fair Isle and a Red-footed Falcon in Aberdeenshire. Other lingering rarities included the Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, King Eider in Lothian, Squacco Heron in County Cork, Lesser Scaup in Merseyside, Little Bittern on Scilly, Red-footed Falcon in Kent, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford, Great Reed Warbler in Nottinghamshire, Least Tern in County Dublin and Iberian Chiffchaff in London. |

| A Great Reed Warbler was found at Langford Lowfields in Nottinghamshire and a Little Bittern was on St.Mary's on the Isles of Scilly. The Calf of Man enjoyed a good morning with a Greensish Warbler trapped and ringed and a Black Kite over. Bee-eaters were seen briefly at Bockhill Farm in Kent and Ardvule on South Uist. Also in Scotland, a Lesser Yellowlegs was discovered at Frankfield Loch in Clyde and a new drake King Eider was in Olas Voe on Mainland Shetland.
The Least Tern was seen again at Portrane in County Dublin. In Kent, the Eleonora's Falcon was still present until mid morning but not seen subsequently and in Highland the Short-toed Eagle was also seen in the morning. Other lingering rarities included the Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, King Eider in Lothian, Squacco Heron in County Cork, Lesser Scaup in Merseyside, Red-footed Falcon in Kent, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford, Great Reed Warbler in Norfolk and Iberian Chiffchaff in London. Scarcity highlights included Night Heron on Scilly, Purple Herons in Merseyside and Suffolk, Bluethroats in East Yorkshire and on Fair Isle, Woodchat Shrike still in North Yorkshire, Icterine Warblers in Cleveland and on Fair Isle and Golden Orioles on Scilly, Bardsey and Shetland. |

| The male Least Tern returned to the Portrane Little Tern colony in County Dublin for its third year.
Other new discoveries today included a Thrush Nightingale on Lundy, Devon, a Rustic Bunting at Nanjizal, Cornwall, two Black-winged Stilts at Stodmarsh, Kent and single Bee-eaters at Hickling, Norfolk, Portland, Dorset, Spurn, Yorkshire and both Barra and North Uist, Western Isles. Lingering rarities still present included the Eleonora's Falcon and Red-footed Falcon in Kent, Short-toed Eagle in Highland, Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Squacco Heron in County Cork, Lesser Scaup in Merseyside, Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire, King Eider in Lothian, Black Duck and Azorean Yellow-legged Gull in County Mayo, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford and American Black Tern in Northumberland. Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Woodchat Shrike, a Golden Oriole, a Common Rosefinch, a Marsh Warbler, two Rose-coloured Starlings, four Icterine Warblers, an American Golden Plover, a Red-necked Phalarope, two Purple Herons, two Ring-necked Ducks, a Ring-billed Gull, two Iceland Gulls and three Roseate Terns. |

A Thrush Nightingale was found on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd, Eastern Subalpine Warbler was on Barra. Whilst there were two Red-footed Falcon reports with single birds in Norfolk and Suffolk and a White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford. The Eleonora's Falcon continued to delight its admirers at Worth in Kent, along with the female Red-footed Falcon, and the Short-toed Eagle was still to be found near Loch Grudie in Highland. | The White-tailed Lapwing tour continued, with it moving to Sandwell Valley in the West Midlands. A Gull-billed Tern was at Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset at various times in the day, a Kentish Plover was found at Kenfig in Glamorgan, a White-billed Diver was at Lothbeg Point in Highland and a Bee-eater flew over over Bempton Cliffs in Yorkshire.
The Eleonora's Falcon continued to delight its admirers at Worth in Kent, along with the female Red-footed Falcon, and the Short-toed Eagle was still to be found near Loch Grudie in Highland.
