| An arrival of Red-rumped Swallows resulted in two birds at Dunwich, Suffolk, three at Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire, up to three at Spurn/Kilnsea, Yorkshire and one at Hunmanby, also Yorkshire. Other new rarities included a Spotted Sandpiper at Elton Reservoir, Greater Manchester, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Meikle Loch, Aberdeenshire, an American Black Tern at Long Nanny, Northumberland, an Alpine Swift at Brierley Hill, West Midlands with another plus a Red-footed Falcon at Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire and a Bee-eater at Portland, Dorset.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, Spotted Sandpiper in Cumbria, three Black-wingd Stilts in Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Red-rumped Swallow in Orkney, Red-footed Falcon in Berkshire and Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk. Scarcity highlights included a Hoopoe, a Bluethroat, a Grey-headed Wagtail, seven Golden Orioles, a Montagu's Harrier, two Honey Buzzards, a Purple Heron, 11 Glossy Ibises, an American Golden Plover, a Red-necked Phalarope, three Pectoral Sandpipers, five Temminck's Stints, seven Dotterel, a Green-winged Teal, a Surf Scoter, a Kumlien's Gull, five Iceland Gulls, six Glaucous Gulls, at least 107 Pomarine Skuas and at least 321 Long-tailed Skuas. |

| The highlight of the spring so far was the discovery of a male Blue Rock Thrush in Essex at The Naze albeit only present briefly
in the afternoon. Discoveries elsewhere included a Red-footed Falcon in Berkshire at Woolhampton, Savi's Warbler in Lincolnshire at Wolla Bank, Black Kite in Cornwall at Bartinney Downs, White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles off Whalsay, and Red-rumped Swallows in East Yorkshire (4), Norfolk, Orkney Isles, and Suffolk. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Black-browed Albatross in East Yorkshire, Snowy Owl on the Western Isles, Red-breasted Goose and four Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk, Spotted Sandpiper in Cumbria, territorial Iberian Chiffchaff in London, and Lesser Yellowlegs in County Londonderry. Scarcities included Purple Heron (Suffolk), Golden Oriole (Kent), Red-necked Phalarope (Northumberland), Green-winged Teal (Shetland), Honey Buzzard (Lincolnshire), two each of Montagu's Harrier, Hoopoe, and Pectoral Sandpiper, three Long-tailed Skuas, four Temminck's Stints, and a total of 16 Glossy Ibises. |

| Discoveries today included a Spotted Sandpiper in Cumbria at Bowness-on-Solway, a
Hooded Merganser in Essex at Abberton Reservoir, and in Norfolk a Tawny Pipit at West Runton and a Red-rumped Swallow at Wells, whilst
an Alpine Swift in Devon, and both Red-rumped Swallow and Black Kite in Kent were all brief encounters. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Snowy Owl on the Western Isles, Red-breasted Goose and two Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Londonderry, and White-billed Diver in Highland. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (East Sussex), Montagu's Harrier (Cornwall), Red-backed Shrike (London), Long-tailed Skua (Shetland Isles), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), Kumlien's Gull (Orkney Isles), two each of Golden Oriole, Hoopoe, Red-necked Phalarope, Pectoral Sandpiper, Honey Buzzard, Green-winged Teal, and six Temminck's Stint, seven Glossy Ibises, and a total of eight migrant Dotterel. Late news from yesterday concerned an Ashy-headed Wagtail in West Sussex at Pagham Harbour, and a Black Kite in Borders. |

| Discoveries today included a Bonaparte's Gull in County Durham at Washington, a
Lesser Yellowlegs in Ceredigion at Ynys-hir, and a Kentish Plover in Kent at Pegwell Bay, whilst a
Black-winged Stilt in Gwent, a Red-rumped Swallow in East Yorkshire,
Black Kite in Cornwall, and Bee-eater in West Yorkshire were all brief encounters. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Snowy Owl on the Western Isles, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Red-breasted Goose and three Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk, and Lesser Yellowlegs in County Londonderry. New rarities included another Iberian Chiffchaff this time in Shropshire, 2 Black-winged Stilts were found at Abberton Resr in Essex whilst Black Kite records continued with birds in Kent and Derbyshire. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present comprisd, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, King Eider in Lothian, Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk (3), Snow Owl on North Uist. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Shetland), Serin (Isle of Wight), Montagu's Harriers (Norfolk, Suffolk and Cornwall), Honey Buzzard (Pembrokeshire), Ring-necked Duck, 4 migrant Dotterel, 7 Temminck's Stints, and a total of 7 Glossy Ibises. |

| Rarities discovered today were a Snowy Owl on the Western Isles on North Uist,
a Citrine Wagtail on Anglesey at Cemlyn, Red-throated Pipit on the Shetland Isles on Fair Isle, two
Black-winged Stilts together in Kent at Sandwich Bay, whilst brief encounters
were a pratincole species in County Cork, a Bee-eater in Suffolk, and
Black Kite in Cornwall. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present comprised the Black-browed Albatross in East Yorkshire, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Spanish Wagtail in Conwy, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, King Eider in Lothian, Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk (5) and Kent, and Lesser Yellowlegs in County Cork, County Londonderry, and Suffolk. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Serin (West Sussex), Red-backed Shrike (East Yorkshire), Montagu's Harrier (Cornwall), Grey Phalarope (County Wexford), Honey Buzzard (Kent), two each of both Surf Scoter and Ring-necked Duck, three Purple Herons, eight migrant Dotterel, 10 Temminck's Stints, and a total of 13 Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was a Slate-coloured Junco in Argyll on Islay. Discoveries elsewhere included an Iberian Chiffchaff in Somerset at Rowberrow Warren, a
Lesser Yellowlegs in Northumberland at Maiden's Hall Lake, four Black-winged Stilts together in Norfolk at Hickling Broad, and
Red-rumped Swallows in East Yorkshire at Spurn and two together on North
Ronaldsay, Orkney Isles. Lingering rarities comprised the Black-browed Albatross still in East Yorkshire, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Ferruginous Duck in Worcestershire, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both County Londonderry and Suffolk. Scarcities included Golden Oriole (Isles of Scilly), Purple Heron (Kent), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), Honey Buzzard (Norfolk), two Ring-necked Ducks, five each of both Serin and Temminck's Stint, 10 migrant Dotterel, and a total of 16 Glossy Ibises. |

| In County Roscommon, the adult Egyptian Vulture reappeared near Athlone (after also being seen nearby on 28th April).
New discoveries today included a Spanish Wagtail at Conwy RSPB, Conwy, an Iberian Chiffchaff at Borden, Hampshire, a Tawny Pipit at Weybourne and Salthouse, Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs at Mullagh, County Derry and Timoleague, County Cork, Black Kites over Orford and Boyton, Suffolk and Deri, Glamorgan and a White-billed Diver off Aird an Runair, Western Isles. Other lingering rarities seen today included the Iberian Chiffchaff in London, Dusky Warbler and Black-winged Stilt in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, King Eider in Lothian and Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk. Scarcity highlights included a Richard's Pipit, two Lapland Buntings, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Grey Phalarope, two Temminck's Stints, eight Dotterel, a Purple Heron, a Night Heron, 11 Glossy Ibises, a Ring-necked Duck, an American Wigeon, two Surf Scoters, an Iceland Gull, a Glaucous Gull, seven Pomarine Skuas and nine Long-tailed Skuas. |

The run of Savi’s Warblers continued with a bird found at Hickling Broad, Norfolk. Elsewhere a Gull-billed Tern made a brief appearance on Westray, Orkney. A Red-rumped Swallow was noted in Northumberland, Kentish Plover in Kent and single Black Kite records came from Kent and Hampshire. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Greater Sand Plover in County Waterford, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Black-winged Stilt in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, Ferruginous Duck in Worcestershire, and White-billed Divers in Moray and Shetland, Dusky Warbler in Norfolk, Iberian Chiffchaff in London and Bonaparte’s Gull in County Wexford. Scarcities included Ortolan Bunting (Western Isles), Woodchat Shrike (Cornwall), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Night Heron (Devon), Honey Buzzard (Surrey), 2 Pectoral Sandpiper, Ring-necked Duck, 5 migrant Dotterel, and a total of 15 Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a singing male Iberian Chiffchaff in London at Regent's Park, whilst a
Savi's Warbler was heard in Staffordshire at Belvide Reservoir, and a Red-rumped Swallow
was new on North Ronaldsay, Orkney Isles. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Greater Sand Plover in County Waterford, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Black-winged Stilt in Kent, King Eiders in both Cleveland and Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Wexford, Ferruginous Duck in Worcestershire, and White-billed Diver in Moray.
