| Rarities discovered today comprised a Black Scoter in Angus at Lunan Bay, a Penduline Tit
trapped at Orford Ness, Suffolk, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Black Rock Strand, County Kerry, and in County Carlow
an early first-winter Bonaparte's Gull at Kildavin. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were both the Paddyfield Pipit and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Steller's Eider and Blue Rock Thrush on the Orkney Isles, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, both Eastern Yellow Wagtail and Dusky Warbler in Suffolk, Isabelline Wheatear, Little Bittern and Hume's Warbler in Norfolk, Eastern Stonechat and three Hume's Warblers in East Yorkshire, Blue-winged Teal and Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, and Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland. |

| Today was another good day for eastern rarities with the Paddyfield Pipit
still in Cornwall, Isabelline Wheatear in Norfolk, Eastern Yellow Wagtail
in Suffolk, Eastern Stonechat in East Yorkshire, Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly,
Pallas's Warbler in Lincolnshire, and Hume's Warblers in Denbighshire, East Yorkshire (3), Norfolk and the Isles of Scilly. Rarities from elsewhere comprised the Steller's Eider still on the Orkney Isles, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Pacific Diver in County Cork, Little Bittern in Norfolk, Blue-winged Teal in Devon, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, Lesser Scaups in Cornwall (2) and County Mayo, and two Two-barred Crossbills together on the Western Isles. |

| A Hume's Warbler was discovered at Rhyl, Denbighshire, and a Ferruginous Duck was at Papercourt GPs, Surrey.
Lingering rarities included the Steller's Eider in Orkney, Paddyfield Pipit and American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cornwall, Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Suffolk, Isabelline Wheatear and Hume's Warbler in Norfolk, other Hume's Warblers in Highland and Yorkshire (three), Eastern Stonechat sp in Yorkshire, Short-billed Dowitcher in County Louth, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, Blue-winged Teal in Devon and two Lesser Scaups in Cornwall. Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Barred Warbler, a Little Bunting, a Wryneck, two Great Grey Shrikes, six Shorelarks, 226 Waxwings, a Grey Phalarope, a Pomarine Skua, two Little Auks, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Black Brant, two Ring-necked Ducks, four Green-winged Teals and two Iceland Gulls. |

| The highlight of the day was an Isabelline Wheatear new in Norfolk at Cley whilst other
rarities discovered were a new Lesser Scaup in Cornwall at Stithians Reservoir,
Dusky Warblers on the Isles of Scilly on St Mary's and in Suffolk at Hollesley,
White-rumped Sandpipers in Forth at Skinflats and County Londonderry at
the Roe Estuary (2), with now two Hume's Warblers together in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were Paddyfield Pipit, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Lesser Scaup all in Cornwall, Steller's Eider, Blue Rock Thrush and seven White-billed Divers on the Orkney Isles, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Brown Shrike on the Isles of Scilly, Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Suffolk, Eastern Stonechat species in Eaat Yorkshire, Baird's Sandpiper in County Kerry, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, Blue-winged Teal in Devon, Hume's Warblers in East Yorkshire (3), Highland and Norfolk, and White-rumped Sandpipers in County Cork, County Londonderry (6) and the Western Isles. |

New rarities today comprised Eastern Black Redstart at Boulby in Cleveland, Eastern Stonechat sp at Easington in East Yorkshire, King Eider at Nairn in Highland, and Hume's Warblers in Suffolk (three!), Norfolk and East Yorkshire. Still present were the Steller's Eider in Orkney, Paddyfield Pipit in Cornwall, Blue Rock Thrush in Orkney, Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Suffolk (confirmed from sound recordings), Short-billed Dowitcher in Co.Louth, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cornwall, Blue-winged Teal in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Little Bittern in Norfolk, Long-billed Dowitchers in Northumberland and Devon, Olive-backed Pipit in Northumberland, existing Hume's Warblers in East Yorkshire (two) and Highland, and nine White-rumped Sandpipers (six together in Co.Derry, two together in Co.Mayo, and another in Western Isles). Scarcities included Montagu's Harrier (Surrey), Little Bunting (Northumberland, five Pallas's Warblers, three Great Grey Shrikes, two Hoopoes, Shorelark, Surf Scoter (Lothian), two Green-winged Teal (both East Yorkshire), three Ring-necked Ducks, three Black Brants, two Glossy Ibises, Grey Phalarope (Norfolk), 30 Taiga Bean Geese (Clyde), three Tundra Bean Geese, and Bean Goose sp (Suffolk). |

| Orkney continued to be the place to be - following a Siberian Rubythroat and
the relocated Steller's Eider earlier in the week, today brought the discovery
of a Blue Rock Thrush on Lamb Holm. The Steller's Eider
remained on Westray until it relocated to Papa Westray later in the day. New discoveries included Pallid Swift in Norfolk, Citrine Wagtail in Pembrokeshore, Olive-backed Pipits in Lincolnshire and Northumberland, Dusky Warbler in East Yorkshire and White-rumped Sandpipers in Western Isles and Co Wexford. The Paddyfield and American Buff-bellied Pipits (Cornwall), Hume's Warblers (East Yorkshire), Snowy Owl (Shetland), Lesser Scaup (Cornwall, Co Mayo and Somerset), Long-billed Dowitchers (Argyll and Northumberland), Blue-winged Teal (Devon), Baird's Sandpiper (Co Kerry) and nine White-rumped Sandpipers all lingered. The best of the rest included Little Bunting and Wryneck (Dorset), Bluethroat and Pallas's Warbler (East Yorkshire), Red-breasted Flycatcher (Highland), Barred Warbler (Cleveland) and Hoopoe (Co Wexford). |

| A Rose-breasted Grosbeak spent a few minutes near Salakee on St Mary's, Scilly late morning, but couldn't be relocated. Other new discoveries included a Penduline Tit at Minsmere RSPB, Suffolk, a Pallid Harrier or hybrid at Therfield, Hertfordshire and a Blue-winged Teal at Man Sands, Devon.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Steller's Eider and Siberian Rubythroat in Orkney, Paddyfield Pipit, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Brown Shrike in Scilly, Hume's Warblers in Yorkshire (two) and County Cork, Blue-winged Teal in Clyde, Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Long-billed Dowitchers in Devon and Northumberland and six White-rumped Sandpipers in County Derry. Scarcity highlights included a Bluethroat, a Little Bunting, a Barred Warbler, a Common Rosefinch, two Lapland Buntings, three Great Grey Shrikes, six Pallas's Warblers, 133 Waxwings, a Black-bellied Dipper, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Glossy Ibis, a Green-winged Teal, two Ring-necked Ducks, two Black Brants, three Iceland Gulls, three Glaucous Gulls, 16 Pomarine Skuas and 63 Little Auks. |

| The highlights of the day came from the Orkney Isles where the Steller's Eider
was relocated on Westray, a Siberian Rubythroat was discovered on North Ronaldsay and a Snowy Owl
was new on Hoy. New rarities elsewhere comprised a Brown Shrike on the Isles of Scilly on St Mary's, a Dusky Warbler in Cornwall at Kenidjack, and Hume's Warblers in East Yorkshire at both Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head. Lingering rarities confirmed as still preset were the Paddyfield Pipit and American Buff-bellied Pipit together in Cornwall, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Hume's Warblers in County Cork, Highland and North Yorkshire, Baird's Sandpiper in County Kerry, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Devon and Northumberland, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Cork, Blue-winged Teal still in Clyde, and Lesser Scaups in both County Mayo and Cornwall. |

| The highlight of the day was the continued presence of the Paddyfield Pipit in Cornwall,
whilst the Brown Shrike remained on the Western Isles and other eastern
passerines were Hume's Warblers in County Cork on Cape Clear, in Highland at Tarbat Ness, and
in North Yorkshire in Scarborough, Olive-backed Pipits in Fife on the Isle of May and in Highland at Tarbat Ness, two each of
Red-breasted Flycatcher and Richard's Pipit, and three Pallas's Warblers (East Yorkshire, Fife and North Yorkshire). Rarities elsewhere comprised the White-winged Scoter still in Lothian, Short-billed Dowitcher still in County Louth, Black Duck in Highland, Baird's Sandpiper in County Kerry, Blue-winged Teal in Clyde, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitchers in Argyll, Devon and Northumberland, and White-rumped Sandpipers in County Londonderry (9) and the Western Isles (3). Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Western Isles), Serin (Dorset), Hoopoe (Norfolk), Rough-legged Buzzard (Cambridgeshire), Ring-billed Gull (County Louth), American Golden Plover (County Mayo and Western Isles), Glossy Ibis (two in Devon) and three Ring-necked Ducks. |

| The highlight of the day was the identification of a Brown Shrike on the Western Isles on Barra where it had first been seen yesterday. In County Cork was a Hume's Warbler
was new on Cape Clear as was a Lesser Scaup at Helston, Cornwall. Rarities elsewhere were both the Paddyfield Pipit and American Buff-bellied Pipit still together in Cornwall, Radde's Warbler still in East Yorkshire, Baird's Sandpiper in County Kerry, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Devon and Northumberland, Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Kentish Plover in Cleveland and four White-rumped Sandpipers in County Londonderry. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Fife and Shetland Isles), Bluethroat and Red-breasted Flycatcher (both East Yorkshire), Barred Warbler (Lincolnshire), Purple Heron (Suffolk), Richard's Pipit (Dorset and London), American Golden Plover (County Mayo and Western Isles) and Ring-necked Duck (County Clare, Dorset and Essex). Significant late news concerned a female Pied Wheatear present yesterday in Worcestershire at Clifton. |
