| New discoveries today included a Western Bonelli's Warbler on Barra, Western Isles, a Black-winged Stilt at Lytchett Bay, Dorset and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Lissagriffin, County Cork.
Lingering rarities included the Eastern Black-eared Wheatear in Lancashire, Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Citrine Wagtail in Orkney, Wilson's Phalarope in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Pembrokeshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Dorset, Baird's Sandpiper in Argyll, White-rumped Sandpiper in Yorkshire and Black-winged Stilt in Berkshire. Scarcity highlights included a Common Rosefinch, a Little Bunting, a Bluethroat, a Wryneck, a Woodchat Shrike, two Red-backed Shrikes, three Barred Warblers, 29 Lapland Buntings, a Spotted Crake, a Honey Buzzard, a Red-necked Phalarope, a Grey Phalarope, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, thee Pectoral Sandpipers, four American Golden Plovers, a Glossy Ibis, a Ring-billed Gull, an Iceland Gull, a Great Shearwater, a Long-tailed Skua, a Pomarine Skua, eight Leach's Petrels and 23 Roseate Terns. |

| The highlight of the day was a Common Nighthawk seen briefly in Argyll at Loch Laich; the second Nearctic landbird of the autumn to be located in
Britain following the Cliff Swallow on the Isle of Skye, Highland on 27th August. Otherwise. Nearctic waders dominated with a Spotted Sandpiper new in County Kerry at Barrow Harbour, Hudsonian Whimbrel still on the Western Isles, a Long-billed Dowitcher on the Western Isles on Lewis with an unidentified dowitcher in Dorset at Lodmoor, Wilson's Phalarope still in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Pembrokeshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper on the Western Isles and in both County Kerry and County Wexford, White-rumped Sandpiper in both East Yorkshire and the Western Isles, two Pectoral Sandpipers, and three each of both Buff-breasted Sandpiper and American Golden Plover. Rarities elsewhere comprised both the Snowy Owl and Subalpine Warbler species still on the Western Isles, a Citrine Wagtail briefly in Norfolk at Cley and a Black-winged Stilt new in Berkshire at Moor Green Lakes. Scarcities included Bluethroat (Hampshire), Icterine Warbler (Shetland Isles), Red-necked Phalarope (West Sussex), Spotted Crake (East Yorkshire), Dotterel and Shorelark (Western Isles), Ring-billed Gull (County Kerry), Long-tailed Skua (County Down), two each of Barred Warbler, Common Rosefinch and Sabine's Gull, three Wrynecks, four Red-backed Shrikes and 27 Lapland Buntings. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of an Isabelline Wheatear on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd. Elsewhere new rarities were a
Blyth's Reed Warbler identified in Norfolk on Blakeney Point, a Greenish Warbler briefly in Aberdeenshire at Girdle Ness, and in County Kerry Semipalmated Sandpipers
discovered at both Carrahane Strand and Cromane Point. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Eastern Black-eared Wheatear in Lancashire, Forster's Tern in County Louth, Wilson's Phalarope and Semipalmated Sandpiper together in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Pembrokeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in County Clare, and White-rumped Sandpipers in Aberdeenshire and East Yorkshire. Scarcities included Little Bunting, Woodchat Shrike and Marsh Warbler (Orkney Isles), Rose-coloured Starling (Anglesey), Hoopoe (Norfolk), Ring-necked Duck (Aberdeenshire), Long-tailed Skua (North Yorkshire), two each of both Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Bluethroat, three Dotterel, four Pectoral Sandpipers, five each of American Golden Plover, Red-backed Shrike and Wryneck, seven of Barred Warbler and Common Rosefinch, and a total of 18 Lapland Buntings. |

| New rarities today comprised a Bonelli's Warbler species on the Isles of Scilly on
Tresco and a Blyth's Reed Warbler at Kilnsea, East Yorkshire. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Snowy Owl and Hudsonian Whimbrel together on the Western Isles, the unidentified Eastern Black-eared or Pied Wheatear in Lancashire, Subalpine Warbler species on the Western Isles, Wilson's Phalarope and Semipalmated Sandpiper together in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Pembrokeshire and White-rumped Sandpiper in East Yorkshire. Scarcities included Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Cornwall), Bluethroat (Hampshire), Ortolan Bunting (Essex), Woodchat Shrike (County Cork), Long-tailed Skua (East Yorkshire), Ring-billed Gull (County Kerry), Montagu's Harrier (East Sussex), Spotted Crake (East Yorkshire), Shorelark (Orkney Isles), two Surf Scoters, three each of Icterine Warbler, Common Rosefinch, Red-backed Shrike, American Golden Plover and Pectoral Sandpiper, five Wrynecks, and a total of 33 Lapland Buntings. |

A Collared Flycatcher was trapped and ringed on the Isle of May in Fife, while a Wilson's Phalarope arrived at Tacumshin in Co.Wexford and an influx of Pink-feet carried a Red-breasted Goose to Marshside in Merseyside. Extending their stays were the Semipalmated Sandpiper in Co.Wexford, White-rumped Sandpiper in East Yorkshire and the Pied or Eastern Black-eared Wheatear in Lancashire. The day's scarcities included three American Golden Plovers (Kent, Shetland and Co.Kerry), Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Cornwall), Red-necked Phalarope (Suffolk), two Pectoral Sandpipers (Clyde and Co.Wexford), Richard's Pipit (Pembrokeshire), Little Bunting (Shetland), Ortolan Bunting (Dorset), White-spotted Bluethroat (Hampshire), five Red-backed Shrikes, Woodchat Shrike (Co.Cork), five Common Rosefinches, Icterine Warbler (Northumberland), Melodious Warbler (Cornwall), six Barred Warblers, Marsh Warbler (East Yorkshire), 21 Lapland Buntings, Hoopoe (Essex), seven Wrynecks, Sabine's Gull (Suffolk), Shorelark (Orkney), Montagu's Harrier (Lancashire), Glossy Ibis (Gwent), five Honey Buzzards, three Long-tailed Skuas and 12 Pomarine Skuas. |

| In North Yorkshire a Fea's/Desertas Petrel flew north past Hunmanby Gap then Filey early morning, but wasn't tracked any further. Other new discoveries today included an Aquatic Warbler at Nanjizal, Cornwall, a Subalpine Warbler species at Bornish, South Uist and a Hudsonian Whimbrel on St Kilda, both Western Isles, and Citrine Wagtails at Minsmere, Suffolk, and Lady's Island Lake, Co.Wexford.
The Brown Booby reappeared late afternoon at Kynance, having been missing for the rest of the day. Other lingering rarities seen today included the unidentified Eastern Black-eared or Pied Wheatear in Lancashire, Kentish Plover in Hampshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Pembrokeshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Wexford, Baird's Sandpiper in Argyll, White-rumped Sandpiper in Yorkshire, Black-winged Stilt in Nottinghamshire, Snowy Owl in Western Isles and Black Duck in Highland. |

| New discoveries today included a Citrine Wagtail on Papa Westray, Orkney and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Loch of Strathbeg, Aberdeenshire.
Lingering rarities included the Brown Booby in Cornwall, unidentified Eastern Black-eared or Pied Wheatear in Lancashire, Black-winged Stilt in Nottinghamshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Wexford and White-rumped Sandpipers in Yorkshire and Western Isles. A Wilson's Petrel was off Lizard, Cornwall. Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, a Glossy Ibis, four Pectoral Sandpipers, four Lapland Buntings, eight Wrynecks, nine Long-tailed Skuas, ten Grey Phalaropes, 17 Sabine's Gulls, 67 Pomarine Skuas, around 99 Leach's Petrels and an Iceland Gull. |

| Rarities today were headlined by the continuing Brown Booby in Cornwall on The Lizard whilst the unidentified
Eastern Black-eared or Pied Wheatear remained in Lancashire, as
did the Western Bonelli's Warbler in Gwynedd, Greenish Warbler in Cleveland, Baird's and
Semipalmated Sandpipers in County Wexford, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Gwent,
Two-barred Crossbill and Citrine Wagtail on the Shetland Isles, White-rumped Sandpiper
in East Yorkshire, Black-winged Stilt in Nottinghamshire and Bonaparte's Gull
in Kent. Seawatching produced single Wilson's Petrels passing both Cornwall and County Clare and totals of 21 Long-tailed Skuas and 43 Sabine's Gulls. Scarcities included Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Hoopoe (Cornwall), Woodchat Shrike (County Cork), Rose-coloured Starling (Western Isles), Barred Warbler (Shetland Isles), Pectoral Sandpiper (Argyll), Dotterel (East Yorkshire), Glossy Ibis (Gwent), four Lapland Buntings and a total of seven Wrynecks. |

| The highlight of the day was the Brown Booby in Cornwall at Kynance Cove that showed throughout the day. Breaking rarities comprised the Semipalmated Sandpiper confirmed in Gwent at Goldcliff, a Baird's Sandpiper in Argyll on Tiree, and on the Shetland Isles another Two-barred Crossbill on Fair Isle and a Citrine Wagtail on Unst. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the unidentified Black-eared or Pied Wheatear in Lancashire, Black-headed Bunting in Devon, Western Bonelli's Warbler in Gwynedd, Greenish Warbler in Cleveland, White-rumped Sandpiper in East Yorkshire, Black-winged Stilt in Nottinghamshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent. Scarcities included Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Melodious Warbler, Red-backed Shrike and Hoopoe (all Cornwall), Pectoral Sandpiper (Western Isles), Dotterel (East Yorkshire), Corncrake (Dorset), Long-tailed Skua (Wirral), Sabine's Gull (County Wexford), two each of both Barred Warbler and Common Rosefinch, four Lapland Buntings and seven Wrynecks. |
