A Pacific Golden Plover was found at Breydon Water in Norfolk. 14 Two-barred Crossbills in Shetland included 10 new arrivals; another was on North Ronaldsay in Orkney. The two White-rumped Sandpipers were still in Aberdeenshire, while other stayers were included the Long-billed Dowitcher in Co.Antrim, Lesser Yellowlegs and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Blue-winged Teal in Clyde and Ferruginous Duck in Sussex. The day's supporting cast comprised Rose-coloured Starling (Shetland), two Pectoral Sandpipers (Sussex and Co.Donegal), Ring-billed Gull (Co.Cork), three Cory's Shearwaters (Cornwall) and two Glossy Ibises. |

The highlight of the day was the discovery of two White-rumped Sandpipers together in Aberdeenshire at Loch of Strathbeg. A Black Kite flew over Brading Marshes on the Isle of Wight. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Long-billed Dowitcher again in County Antrim at Belfast Lough, both Lesser Yellowlegs and Bonaparte's Gull still together in Kent, Ferruginous Duck still in East Sussex, a Black Kite reported in Nottinghamshire and a total of seven Two-barred Crossbills on the Shetland Isles. Scarcities included Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), two Pectoral Sandpipers (Co.Donegal and East Sussex), Shorelark (Orkney Isles), two Surf Scoters (together in Lothian), Serin (Kent) and three Glossy Ibises (North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and Gwent). |

Late in the day, a female Red-footed Falcon was encountered on roadside wires south of West Ayton in North Yorkshire. 10 Two-barred Crossbills in Shetland included six new birds. Ongoing rarities were Arctic Warbler on Fair Isle, the Lesser Yellowlegs and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Ferruginous Duck in Sussex and Savi's Warbler in Anglesey. Scarcities were limited to three Pectoral Sandpipers (Lancashire, Sussex and Co.Donegal), Serin (Kent), three Balearic Shearwaters (Dorset), Leach's Petrel (Fair Isle) and Pomarine Skua (Fife). |

The highlight of the day was an unidentified orange-billed tern species seen briefly at Kilnsea, East Yorkshire. Rarities elsewhere comprised a Blue-winged Teal still in Clyde, Lesser Yellowlegs and Bonaparte's Gull together in Kent, Ferruginous Duck in East Sussex, and on the Shetland Isles a total of 37 Two-barred Crossbills noted at five sites including a flock of 18 at Stromfirth, Mainland. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Western Isles), Purple Heron (Suffolk), two Pectoral Sandpipers (East Sussex and Lancashire) and two Glossy Ibises (Devon and Merseyside). |

| Rarities today comprised a Little Bittern heard singing in Staffordshire at Belvide Reservoir, in Kent
Lesser Yellowlegs and Bonaparte's Gull still together at Oare Marshes, whilst the
Two-barred Crossbill influx continued with at least 26 recorded on the Shetland Isles today including at least 18 at Stromfirth, Mainland. Scarcities included Serin (Kent), Purple Heron (Somerset) and two each of both Pectoral Sandpiper (Devon and Lancashire) and Glossy Ibis (Devon and Merseyside). |

Fair Isle hosted the first Arctic Warbler of the year. All but one of the day's 14 Two-barred Crossbills on Shetland were new finds; another was on North Ronaldsay in Orkney. In East Sussex, a Black Stork flew over Westfield and there was a Ferruginous Duck at Pett Level. Still present were the Bonaparte's Gull and Lesser Yellowlegs in Kent, as well as the two Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk. Scarcities today included Red-backed Shrike (Norfolk), two Rose-coloured Starlings (Shetland and Argyll), Serin (Kent), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Green-winged Teal (Norfolk), Long-tailed Skua (Orkney), White Stork (Glos), two Glossy Ibis (Gwent and Merseyside), Cory's Shearwater (Co.Donegal) and 10 Balearic Shearwaters (Dorset). |

The flood of Two-barred Crossbills held strong, with at least 54 logged in Shetland; 31 of these were 'new' birds, including a flock of around 20 at Lower Voe on Mainland. Continuing their stays were the Lesser Yellowlegs and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Blue-winged Teal in Clyde, Black Duck in Highland and two Black-winged Stilts together in Norfolk. Other national-level news involved Rose-coloured Starling (Western Isles), Serin (Kent), Glossy Ibis (Merseyside), three Cory's Shearwaters (Scilly), Shorelark (Orkney), Balearic Shearwater (Dorset) and two Glaucous Gulls (Western Isles). |

| The highlight of the day was continuing record influx of Two-barred Crossbills to the Shetland Isles where a total of 47 were recorded today including 14 on Fair Isle, eight on Whalsay, seven on Mainland at Sumburgh Head alone and six each on both Unst and Yell. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Gull-billed Tern still in South Yorkshire, Marsh Sandpiper in Suffolk, both Bonaparte's Gull and Lesser Yellowlegs together in Kent, two separate Blue-winged Teals in Clyde and the Lesser Scaup in Borders. Scarcities included Hoopoe (Nottinghamshire), Glossy Ibis (Merseyside) and 16 Cory's Shearwaters (all at sea off the Isles of Scilly). |

| Discoveries today included a Marsh Sandpiper in Suffolk at Minsmere,
a Gull-billed Tern in South Yorkshire at Adwick Washlands and a Two-barred Crossbill
on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, whilst on the Shetland Isles a total of 32
Two-barred Crossbills today included 19 new birds. In Kent the Bonaparte's Gull returned to Oare Marshes to moult and was joined by a Lesser Yellowlegs that photographs show to be the same adult Lesser Yellowlegs as that present earlier this year on Fair Isle, Shetland on 18th May, at Scatness, Mainland, Shetland on both 19th-29th May and 19th-20th June and Cley, Norfolk on 7th-8th July. The Lesser Yellowlegs at Titchwell, Norfolk on 29th June-4th July 2019 was a different bird and both of these were distinct from those that wintered at Lodmoor, Dorset until 20th April, visited Bryher, Isles of Scilly on 11th May and Castle Espie, County Down on 30th May all of which were different from each other. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Terek Sandpiper still in Cheshire albeit only briefly, a Blue-winged Teal still in Clyde, Lesser Scaup in Borders, Savi's Warbler in Suffolk and two Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (County Roscommon), Serin (Kent), Common Rosefinch (Western Isles), Purple Heron (Somerset), Grey-headed Wagtail (Shetland Isles), Glossy Ibis (Merseyside), two Waxwings (Lothian) and three Rose-coloured Starlings. |

| The highlight of the day was the reappearance of the Sooty Tern in East Yorshire at Flamborough Head before it
later headed north past Long Nab, North Yorkshire, west past Cowbar, Cleveland, north at Whitburn, County Durham, and then in Northumberland
north past both Newbiggin and Cullernose Point before reaching Seahouses. On the Shetland Isles 28 Two-barred Crossbills were discovered today - including nine at Sumburgh Head, seven on Fair Isle and five on Fetlar - bringing the total there for the week to 35. Elsewhere, a further Two-barred Crossbill rested on a boat off Wick, Highland. A Terek Sandpiper arrived in Cheshire at Burton Mere Wetlands whilst other rarities today were the Baikal Teal still in Northumberland, Lesser Scaup in Borders, both Blue-winged Teals in Clyde, two Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk and territorial Savi's Warblers still on Anglesey and in Suffolk. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (County Roscommon), Marsh Warbler (Orkney Isles), Cory's Shearwater (Cornwall) and Glossy Ibis (Merseyside), whilst four Rose-coloured Starlings brought the total for this summer to 51. |
