| Rarities today comprised the Desert Wheatear still on the Isles of Scilly,
Hume's Warbler in East Sussex, Dusky Warbler in Lincolnshire, Coues's Arctic Redpolls
in Lothian and Norfolk, Pacific Diver on County Cork, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford,
Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and
Lesser Scaup in both Somerset and Staffordshire. In Highland a White-billed Diver
was a new discovery at Little Loch Broom. Scarcities included Hoopoe (County Armagh), Common Rosefinch (Shetland Isles), Great Grey Shrike (Staffordshire), Temminck's Stint (Cornwall), two each of Serin, Rose-coloured Starling and American Wigeons, three Ring-billed Gulls, four Rough-legged Buzzards, eight Ring-necked Ducks, 10 Glossy Ibises, 14 Yellow-browed Warblers, and a total of 37 Shorelarks. |

A near-adult American Herring Gull was identified on the Beara Peninsula, Co.Cork. Pacific Divers were still in Co.Cork and Cornwall. The Lesser Scaup reappeared in Staffordshire and other lingering rarities included Hume's Warbler in East Sussex, Dusky Warblers in Lincolnshire and Dorset, Spotted Sandpiper in Co.Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall and Dorset, Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and Coues's Arctic Redpolls in Borders, Lothian and Shetland. Scarcities included four Rough-legged Buzzards, a Temminck's Stint, eight Shorelarks, eight Yellow-browed Warblers, two Great Grey Shrikes, a Rose-coloured Starling, three Lapland Buntings, three Little Auks, a Ring-billed Gull, 13 Glaucous Gulls, 11 Iceland Gulls, eight Glossy Ibises, a Lesser Snow Goose, two Black Brants, 27 Taiga Bean Geese, 13 Tundra Bean Geese, three American Wigeon, two Green-winged Teal and 16 Ring-necked Ducks. |

| News of a Hume's Warbler at Newhaven, Sussex was released today, having been present since 27th December last year.
Other lingering rarities seen today included single Dusky Warblers in Dorset and Lincolnshire, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Lothian, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford, single Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Cornwall and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire. Scarcity highlights included a Common Rosefinch, a Rose-coloured Starling, two Great Grey Shrikes, five Lapland Buntings, 11 Yellow-browed Warblers, 37 Shorelarks, a Temminck's Stint, a White Stork, 12 Glossy Ibises, seven Rough-legged Buzzards, a Lesser Snow Goose, three Black Brants, 14 Tundra Bean Geese, 24 Taiga Bean Geese, a Green-winged Teal, two Surf Scoters, three American Wigeon, seven Ring-necked Ducks, a Kumlien's Gull, two Ring-billed Gulls, 15 Iceland Gulls and 20 Glaucous Gulls. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a first-winter Lesser White-fronted Goose in Cumbria with Pink-footed Geese at
Burgh-by-Sands. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Pacific Diver in County Cork, Eastern Yellow Wagtail on the Isles of Scilly, Dusky Warblers in both Lincolnshire and Warwickshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford, Richardson's Cackling Goose on the Western Isles and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire. Scarcities included Serin and Temminck's Stint (both Cornwall), White-tailed Eagle (Hampshire), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Great Grey Shrike, Ring-billed Gull and Surf Scoter, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four American Wigeons, nine Glossy Ibises, 11 Yellow-browed Warblers, 18 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 19 Shorelarks. |
