Saturday 25th November 2017  
  In Surrey, the Horned Lark remained at Staines Reservoir all day, although it proved rather mobile during the morning at least, visiting nearby King George VI Reservoir on occasion. Other lingering rarities included the Stilt Sandpiper and Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Pacific Diver and Dusky Warbler in Cornwall, Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire, Lesser Scaup in County Galway and King Eider in Highland.

Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Great Grey Shrike, two Richard's Pipits, six Lapland Buntings, nine Waxwings, 12 Shorelarks, 16 Parrot Crossbills, a Green-winged Teal, an American Wigeon, two Ring-necked Ducks, two Surf Scoters, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Glossy Ibis, a Red-necked Phalarope, two Grey Phalaropes, two Leach's Petrels, seven Little Auks, a Sabine's Gull, a Ring-billed Gull, three Glaucous Gulls and ten Iceland Gulls.

Friday 24th November 2017  
  New discoveries today included a Radde's Warbler at Pitsea, Essex and a Bonaparte's Gull at Weymouth, Dorset, and there was a report of two Cackling Geese at Welney, Norfolk.

Lingering rarities included the Stilt Sandpiper and Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, single Dusky Warblers in Cornwall and Scilly, Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire and single King Eiders in Ceredigion and Highland.

Scarcity highlights included a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Red-necked Phalarope, a Ring-billed Gull, a Todd's Canada Goose, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Little Auk, two Pallas's Warblers, two Richard's Pipits, two Great Grey Shrikes, two Ring-necked Ducks, two American Wigeon, two Green-winged Teals, two Surf Scoters, three Iceland Gulls, three Snow Geese, four Glossy Ibises, nine Lapland Buntings, 13 Shorelarks and 20 Waxwings.

The Shorelark present at Staines Reservoir, Surrey on Sunday was present again today, and is thought to probably be an American Horned Lark.

Thursday 23rd November 2017  
  Rarities today comprised the Pied-billed Grebe and two Coues's Arctic Redpolls on the Shetland Isles, Dusky Warbler still in both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and the Long-billed Dowitcher still in Kent. 

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Red-necked Phalarope (Lincolnshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (North Yorkshire), American Wigeon (Devon), Ring-necked Duck (Cornwall) and three Surf Scoters (Cornwall (2) and Lothian).

Wednesday 22nd November 2017  
  Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today comprised the Forster's Tern still in County Galway, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Long-billed Dowitcher in Kent, Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire and Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Barred Warbler (Hampshire), Red-necked Phalarope (Lincolnshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (Essex), Surf Scoter (Lothian), American Wigeon (Devon), Ring-necked Duck (County Monaghan) and American Golden Plover (Cornwall and Western Isles).

Tuesday 21st November 2017  
  Rarities today comprised the Pied-billed Grebe still on the Shetland Isles, Long-billed Dowitcher in Kent and Dusky Warblers in both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Scarcities included Hoopoe (Dorset), Red-necked Phalarope (Lincolnshire), Richard's Pipit (two together in East Yorkshire), American Golden Plover (Cornwall and Western Isles), Surf Scoter (two together in Cornwall) and four American Wigeons.

Monday 20th November 2017  
  A Radde's Warbler was trapped and ringed in Dorset this morning, whilst Dusky Warblers (Cornwall and Isles of Scilly) and King Eider (Highland) both lingered.

The best of the rest included Wryneck (Cornwall), American Golden Plover (Western Isles), Ring-necked Duck (Dumfries & Galloway), American Wigeons (Leicestershire and Worcestershire) and Glossy Ibis (West Sussex).

Sunday 19th November 2017  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of an Eastern Stonechat species in Kent at Halstow Marsh. Rarities elsewhere comprised Dusky Warblers in both Cornwall (new at Sennen) and the Isles of Scilly, Lesser Yellowlegs still in Dorset, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Oxfordshire, Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire, and Long-billed Dowitchers in both Kent and County Wexford (2).

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Barred Warbler (Hampshire), Ortolan Bunting (Dorset), Little Bunting (Cornwall), Red-necked Phalarope (Lincolnshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (East Yorkshire), Corncrake (Gwynedd), and an inland Shorelark (Surrey), four Surf Scoters, and five each of both American Wigeon and Ring-necked Duck.

Saturday 18th November 2017  
  New discoveries today included a Snowy Owl on Eday, Orkney and a Dusky Warbler at Higher Moors, Isles of Scilly, whilst a Lesser Scaup is present for a second day at Farmoor, Oxfordshire.

Lingering rarities included the Pied-billed Grebe in Shetland, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, two Long-billed Dowitchers in County Wexford and one in Kent, Lesser Scaup in County Galway and Ferruginous Duck in Leicestershire.

Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Little Bunting, a Ring-billed Gull, a Lesser Snow Goose, a Rough-legged Buzzard, an American Golden Plover, a Dotterel, a Red-necked Phalarope, two Grey Phalaropes, three Ring-necked Ducks, three American Wigeons, three Green-winged Teals, three Little Auks, three Great Grey Shrikes, three Lapland Buntings, four Surf Scoters and six Shorelarks.

Friday 17th November 2017  
  Rarity highlights comprised Bonaparte's Gull in Ayrshire, Pacific Diver in Cornwall, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Long-billed Dowitcher in Kent, whilst scarcities came in the form of Short-toed Lark (Cornwall), Richard's Pipits (Cornwall and Norfolk), Lesser Snow Goose (Aberdeenshire), Red-necked Phalaropes (Kent and Lincolnshire), three Ring-necked Ducks and five Glossy Ibises.

Thursday 16th November 2017  
  Today's rarities comprised Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eider in Highland and Richardson's Cackling Geese in Argyll and on the Dumfries & Galloway/ Cumbria border, whilst in Ireland a White-billed Diver (Co Clare), King Eider (Co Kerry) and Lesser Scaup (Co Galway) were all logged.

The best of the rest included Little Bunting (Cornwall), Barred Warbler (East Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalaropes (Kent and Lincolnshire), American Golden Plover (Western Isles), three Glossy Ibises, seven Shorelarks and at least 13 Waxwings.
