| Rarities today comprised Pine Buntings in both Kent and North Yorkshire, American Coot on the Western Isles,
Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Pacific Diver in Northumberland,
Snowy Owl in County Galway, White-billed Diver inland in Lincolnshire,
Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Desert Wheatear in Devon,
Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland and Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset. Scarcities included Serin (East Sussex), Surf Scoter (County Dublin), Yellow-browed Warbler (County Waterford), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), Ring-billed Gull (County Clare), Kumlien's Gull (County Cork), three Ring-necked Ducks, six Lapland Buntings, 12 Cattle Egrets, 35 Shorelarks, and a total of 64 Tundra Bean Geese. |

||
| Rarities today comprised Pine Buntings in both Kent and North Yorkshire,
Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Killdeer and White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles,
Pacific Divers in both Cornwall and Northumberland, White-billed Diver
inland in Cambridgeshire, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire, Hooded Merganser in Clyde,
Eastern Black Redstarts in Cleveland and Cornwall, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire,
Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Ferruginous Duck in County Durham. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Ring-billed Gull (County Wicklow), Surf Scoter (Fife), Glossy Ibis (Aberdeenshire), Kumlien's Gull (County Donegal), two each of Little Bunting, Lapland Bunting and Ring-necked Duck, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four American Wigeons, nine Great Grey Shrikes, 25 Cattle Egrets, and a total of 67 Shorelarks. Significant late news concerned a Snowy Owl yesterday near Aghagower, County Mayo. |

| Rarities today comprised the Dusky Thrush still in Derbyshire, Pine Buntings
in both Kent and North Yorkshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire,
American Coot and Gyr on the Western Isles, Northern Harrier,
Pallid Harrier and Lesser Scaup on the Orkney Isles, Pacific Diver and
Black Scoter in Northumberland, Killdeer on the Shetland Isles, White-billed Diver inland in Lincolnshire,
Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire, Red-flanked Bluetail in Glamorgan,
Eastern Black Redstarts in both Cleveland and Cornwall, Hooded Merganser in Clyde,
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset,
Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, and Ferruginous Ducks in both County Durham and Hampshire. Scarcities included Little Bunting (Hampshire), Serin (East Sussex), Yellow-browed Warbler and Kumlien's Gull (both Somerset), two each of Rose-coloured Starling and Surf Scoter, three each of American Wigeon, Rough-legged Buzzard and Ring-billed Gull, five Great Grey Shrikes, six Ring-necked Ducks, 21 Lapland Buntings, 24 Cattle Egrets, and a total of 99 Shorelarks. |

Wheatear in Devon, Northern Harrier in Orkney, Killdeer in
Shetland, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs
in Dorset, Pallid Harrier in Yorkshire, Hooded Merganser in Clyde,
Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk.

| The highlight of the day was a Black-throated Thrush reported in London at Finchley. Rarities elsewhere comprised the
Pine Bunting still in North Yorkshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire,
Pacific Diver and Black Scoter in Northumberland, White-billed Diver
in Lincolnshire, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire,
Desert Wheatear in Devon, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, and
Ferruginous Ducks in County Durham and Norfolk. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Serin (East Sussex), Rough-legged Buzzard (Lincolnshire), Temminck's Stint (Staffordshire), American Wigeon (Dumfriesshire), Glossy Ibis (Devon), Kumlien's Gull (County Galway), two each of Little Bunting and Surf Scoter, three Great Grey Shrikes, four Yellow-browed Warblers, five each of Ring-necked Duck and Lapland Bunting, seven Ring-billed Gulls, 25 Cattle Egrets, and 38 Shorelarks. Significant late news concerned the Lesser White-fronted Goose still present on 18th January in Essex on Foulness Island, Essex where it was first seen on 18th December 2016. |
